My wife and I both started attending this dojo in December. We’d both never taken a martial arts class before and are total beginners. However, Sensei Johnson is such a personable and amazing instructor, my anxieties about being a beginner were quickly squashed by the confidence he instilled. It has truly sparked a passion in me for something I never thought I’d do and I can’t wait for learn more. I can’t recommend this school more!!

I've trained in a variety of martial arts since the mid-late 1990s. After spending about three years studying kung fu, I went on to earn a third degree black belt in taekwondo, and had my own school for a number of years. As the advanced curriculum in that art grew thinner, I sought a richer curriculum that would build on what I had learned. Sensei Johnson's broad and deep knowledge of shorei ryu, ryukyu kempo, and even fundamental BJJ presented the best-rounded curriculum I'd encountered.
