“My 10 year old son and 12 year old daughter have been attending U.S. Martial Arts Academy for over a year. They enjoy the challenge and have thrived. Their Taekwondo skills have developed but there are several attributes they have acquired that we were not expecting. Their self-esteem, confidence, mood, and levels of determination have noticeably grown.“
“Great gym, great training partners and competent owner. Everyone is humble despite level of expertise . As long as you check your ego at the door, this is a great place to learn, grow and develop. What I love vs most MMA gyms, Top Notch has a Full gym that can be utilized (workout equipment-bench, dumbbells, squat rack, TRX, ETC) to compliment the full MMA layout. Which consist of wrestling mats, grappling dummies, punch bags, accompanied by a caged octagon. All a apart of the gym membership. Give it a try risk free prior to spending any $.I live in Lyons IL, its worth the travel for me. Great programs for kids as well.“
“It's been a year now and my son is a purple belt. He is enjoying it very much. The instructors are awesome and really care about the kids. I would recommend Des Plaines Martial Arts to all. :)“

406 Ogden Ave, Downers Grove“Our family has been going to True Balance Karate for a few years and it has been fantastic. The Masters Helsdon take pride in their studio and have created an environment filled with respect, compassion, dedication, and honor. All ages are welcome and the flexible class schedules make it easy to make karate a part of your life. This is a positive learning environment that turns people into leaders. The belt system allows everyone to learn at their own pace, and if you are looking to get into the competitive aspect, there are a couple of tournaments per year which are a good time.Seriously, you should come give it a try. It's a fun place with kind people that want to share their excitement about karate with you.Tang Soo!“
“We Hired Frank from Amalgam Martial Academy to work with kids ages 6 - 12 years over a summer camp program. Every week the kids were super excited to see Mr. Frank and learn all about self defense, good character, and discipline. He was personable with the kids and would quickly change tactics if he felt they were struggling with a concept and re-frame it in a new light. At the end of the summer the camp kids even got to break their own boards! They we so proud of themselves and the new skills they learned with Mr. Frank. If you are thinking of putting your kids in martial arts, my top recommendation is Amalgam Martial Academy and Mr. Frank. We will definitely hire them again for future summer camp programs. Thank you Mr Frank!“

The class is giving them confidence, teaching self defense and valuable life skills about self esteem, respect, courtesy. “Returning to my karate dojo after a hiatus of 9 years was like coming home to family. The sensei here are truly exceptional, providing not only expert guidance in martial arts but also instilling values of discipline, respect, and perseverance. Since my return 4 years ago, I've experienced remarkable growth both in my skills and character, thanks to their dedication and encouragement. This dojo is more than just a place to train; it's a community where individuals are empowered to reach their fullest potential. I wholeheartedly recommend this dojo to anyone seeking not only to master karate but also to cultivate a strong mind, body, and spirit. I've put a picture of about 7-9 years ago below“

Master Chang is an amazing teacher and a person. He is a huge role model for your kid who teaches them not only physical endurance but also how to be a better person for yourself and others. My son’s behaviour improved tremendously since he started his journey to the point he has been receiving many school rewards for being respectful and helpfull for orhers.Highly reccomended !“

“I was reluctant to enroll my 8-year-old son, but it has proven to be worth every penny. In fact, less than a week after enrolling one child, my 4-year-old son and husband enrolled as well. Sky Centers has the most exceptional senseis. They know all the children’s names, which blows my mind. The students receive a ton of personalized attention. The senseis know how to correct their students’ form in a way that instills confidence at the same time, all while having fun. My kids absolutely love going to karate classes. So does my husband. I’ve seen such a change in my children’s self-confidence in just a few months. There are Parents Night Out events where the kids get dropped off for several hours and have fun at a themed event (glow-nunchucks, foam swords, Nerf night, etc.). My 8-year-old has a blast at these events! The students are respectful and kind. When we were learning how to tie the belt, so many different students helped us tie it and tried to teach us how to tie it. That’s the atmosphere of the place… people help and welcome each other. I can’t say enough positive things about Sky Centers.“
