After years of loyalty and spending thousands of dollars at this salon, I walked out devastated, traumatized, and with my hair destroyed. I came in with healthy, dark brown hair asking for a simple chocolate copper color. Instead, I was left with four uneven shades and chemical damage so severe that 22 inches of my hair literally melted off and fell to the floor like bubblegum.
Here’s the truth they don’t want to admit:
• I was left sitting with chemicals burning on my head for far too long. • No one checked on me until I started screaming that my scalp was burning. • By the time someone came back, my hair was gone—destroyed on the floor.
This wasn’t a “reaction.” This was negligence. They ignored me, they left me in pain, and they watched years of my hair fall away.
Instead of taking responsibility, I was told I’d have to pay over $500 for them to “fix” the damage they caused. The owner didn’t reach out until two weeks later, only after her employee failed to repair my hair. Then, when I pushed for accountability, they canceled all my future appointments and blamed me for a review my husband posted.
Now, they’re trying to cover it up with defensive replies and fake-looking reviews instead of owning what they did. That’s not professionalism—that’s avoidance.
I’ve been loyal for years, paying $300–$400 every visit, and this is how I was treated. My trust, my loyalty, and my hair were destroyed. I’m sharing this so others know the truth: what happened to me can happen to anyone if a salon ignores their clients and then tries to shift the blame.

Sami is the absolute best! She is so personable and easy to talk to. She also has changed my hair health so much. Even people at work notice how much healthier it looks. Definitely recommend her! 🩷

Maya absolutely SLAYED my vision and made it look even better than I could imagine!! Maya and Diana were an absolute joy to hang with for a bit and I came out with absolutely BEAUTIFUL hair, I can’t recommend her enough!! :,)

Fill free to look up my name in your system because I’ve visited this salon for YEARS. I’m very disappointed about this company firing a long term employee based on literal GOSSIP. Sounds like unprofessionalism all over. Would never go near this place again if you value employees and hard work.

I had a good experience at the haircut, my stylist was very nice!
However, it appears they were rushed - they didn’t do any additional rechecks after the initial cut, just styled it. After leaving, I noticed my hair felt heavier on one side, but the cut looked good so I figured it was just because it was a new style to me, so it felt a little different than I was used to. As my hair grew out, I noticed the cut is very uneven, longer in the front on the left side, and longer in the back on the right side, with layers way more disconnected than they should be for the type of cut I wanted - felt incorrectly done rather than purposeful choppy layers. When I realized this (2 or so weeks later) I called the salon, not asking for a refund or a free haircut since I know it had been a couple of weeks, but but to see if any help of any kind was an option to get it fixed. I requested to speak to the salon manager so as to not embarrass/make the stylist feel bad and I was told they were with a client and would call me back.
The manager never called me back or followed up in anyway, even to say nothing could be done. This alone feels extremely unprofessional - bad cuts happen, no real big deal, it’s fixable. but the dismissal and lack of communication was very disappointing and frustrating - especially considering how much I paid for the service.
Edit in response to the owners reply: I have attached a screenshot of the charge showing that I was at the Libertyville location on 9/12.
I find it weird that you said you can’t find me in your system, insinuating that I am lying, and then immediately said you didn’t get my callback request and you would love to help. The stylist also found and messaged me on instagram, saying there was a miscommunication that led to no callback. This is all contradicting and shows you are aware that I did go to your salon, and while I appreciate the offer to fix the cut, your response has put an awful taste in my mouth.

I don’t leave in the area and needed a salon to do my hair and makeup for a wedding at Independence Grove. Andrea was absolutely fantastic. She constantly asked for my input on the makeup and did an amazing job! I highly recommend the salon and Andrea!
