My salon of choice for over 6 years now. Shana never fails to impress every time I go in. Sometimes, I won't even know what I want, but she is always willing to help me figure out what exactly I want from my hair. She also speaks English very well, so conversations are enjoyable and communication is easy. You won't regret getting your hair done from Shana.

Just moved too far away from the Chicagoland area to save my haircuts for Shana. Someone in Philly will have big shoes to fill, and I don't know if they ever could! I have been going and spreading the gospel of Shana for all the years since my last review. Because I moved to St Louis and then covid ruined my year in Chicago, I didn't get to have many haircuts with her in the past six years, but I did when I could, and the few times I've had to settle for an emergency haircut elsewhere (Chicago Chinatown, flushing new york, etc) , no one was good as her. To me, what makes her incredibly special is how great my hair can look without any effort. I am a very low maintenance person, and no one else has ever given me a haircut that looks great just by me air drying my hair lazily. Plus, if I let my hair grow out, it somehow maintains some semblance of shape for a long, long time. How!! It's magic. Nowhere else have I been able to get this. Sure this is just one person's low maintenance needs. But honestly it's a big ask for a stylist - give me a nonboring haircut, but I don't want it to look like crap when I don't style it. No one else has been able to do achieve that for me. And from the time I've spent in the waiting area/waiting for my hair to dye, etc, and seeing other clients come through, it is clear Shana strives to understand each person's needs individually. And of course she's always offering advice based on each person (that you should always listen to!) All the things I said in my previous review are true still, she is of course a skilled technician. But also magical, to me at least. And I know it's just hair! But it was always great knowing I could always rely on Shana for a great haircut, and this void has been hard to fill now that I moved. Everyone should go to Shana, especially if you have thick Asian hair like me!

I went to Shana to get the Japanese hair straightening, it was my first time getting it done so I was nervous. Shana asked many questions about my hair prior to my appointment and when I got there, it put my mind to ease that she was customizing the mixture to my hair specifically. She was very careful and pays lot of attention to detail and for the first time in my life I can just take a shower and go... I don't need to do anything but put in leave in conditioner in my hair ( this was my goal as I don't have time with 3 little kids). My hair looks good and feels good and takes no time at all. She wore a mask and I did as well the whole time. Totally recommend this if you want to not spend time doing your hair.

By far the worst experience, In the middle of my haircut she starts cutting somebody else’s hair ??? And has the nerve to ask for $20 when I told her I’m leaving after waiting and wondering what was happening for 10 min
