I would not recommend this hospital at all - especially for an emergency. I went here after having symptoms get worse after three weeks of being sick and felt very dismissed. I had a note from Urgent care to go to the Emergency room but when I walked in alone the front desk paid no attention to me, I had to wait 20 minutes before someone responded to my questions (while not feeling well). Following that none of the doctors wanted to go ahead with some of the testing because they said unlike my primary care doctor they could not follow up and they didn't want to call an specialist in because it was late and I didn't look like I was dyeing. If this were a dire situation I don't have any faith that they would have been able to tend to my needs in time. The hospital itself needs updating, there are holes in the bathroom wall, the bed I was on had a stain on it and it was so slow. I ended up being there for 5 hours because of all the waiting. When one of the doctors could finally see me she ignored the symptoms I had (because they were busy) and told me it was probably a panic attack, that strange blood results weren't a big deal and the room where they did some blood tests felt dirty and not private. I would not recommend.

My grandfather fell and hit his head and was sent to this hospital as we were told it was a level 1 trauma center. The bedside manner of the doctors were terrible. We were told that he would Not make it past the weekend. So we all visited him throughout his last few days so he would Not be alone. My grandma is small and frail And does not walk well. My dad is not exactly calming to my grandma so my sister and I went up to comfort her. She was inconsolable and actively crying for most of her time next to him. The next morning we came back and then we're told by the front desk that only 2 of us could come up. We were told by the nurse the night before that we had unrestricted access to the ICU visitation as we were immediate family. As we tried to explain, the front lady was extremely unsympathetic and rude. She then called the head nurse and I talked to her. She said we could have 3/4 but no more. We then took turns going up to see him. At one point a nurse yelled at my family and said that we had to leave and kicked two of my family out. My grandfather is on his death bed and we were not allowed to say our goodbyes. All throughout St. Francis' "hallowed halls" there are posters talking about "compassionate care". As far as I could tell, that motto is a lie and compassion does not come often here. Furthermore, the chaplin came around and was so awkward and uncomfortable with our grief that it made the whole situation worse. What's the point They claimed it was due to a code red on Covid but most of the beds were empty in the ICU, several nurses did not wear masks, and there was no enforcement of masks or any other preventive PPE. I am sorely disappointed and upset with this institution. The whole thing could have been handled better. It's hard enough when a close and well-loved family member (some would say the axis in which our family revolves around) is taken from us. Dealing with bureaucratic and non-empathic workers on top of the grief and logistics and legal work for the death of a love one, is insane. For these people, it's just a job to them while for my family and I its a matter of life or death. As dramatic as it sounds, I fear my final memories of my grandpa are tainted by anger and frustration with the lack of care from the employees of this medical facility. Also the hospital is eerily quiet and empty.

I wanted to say something about Lab where they collecting blood. I went there for exam today checked in and waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes. I complained and lady said just two persons ahead of you. I waited so No chair to sit on (just 4 chairs and all taken). I went in after one hour and 25 minutes. She collected the blood and now I have pain on my blood collecting area and two bumps.
