One thing that’s helpful to know as a future bride is that their model is a little different—you book through the company and are paired with hair and makeup artists rather than selecting them directly. Because of that, I highly recommend sending photo inspiration in advance, as I suspect that helps guide artist pairing and expectations.

My first hair and makeup trial unfortunately wasn’t a fit for me, but I really appreciated that Windy City Glam covered the cost of retrials and worked with me to get me paired with a different team. My second trial still wasn’t 100% there, but I made a few adjustments at home afterward and sent detailed feedback through their coordinator (communication goes through the company rather than directly with the artists, which felt a little unusual at first but ultimately worked).

By the wedding day, they came fully prepared with all of my notes and feedback. Hung (hair) and Nicole (makeup) absolutely delivered. They were both so pleasant to work with, incredibly receptive to feedback in real time, and continued making small tweaks until I felt completely happy with the final look.

I truly couldn’t have been happier with how my hair and makeup turned out, and they also did a beautiful job with my bridesmaids. Another huge plus was how well everything held up—I danced all night, and both my hair and makeup stayed looking great through the end of the reception.

While the process took a little trust and communication, I really appreciated the team’s willingness to make things right and ensure I felt my best on such an important day.“

Kenny’s attention to detail is unreal. The head shave and face shave were both incredibly clean, even smoother than any barbershop I’ve been to before. As someone who’s also bald, he understood the level of precision I was looking for and delivered it flawlessly.

The price I paid (around $80–$90 with tip) made complete sense for the level of care, customization, and skill involved.

I booked with Clara and she not only did a fantastic haircut job, she also took the time to educate me on my hair health and recommend me routines going forward to lead me to healthier hair. “Wedding planner here! I recently worked with Ioana & Jen for a wedding in Colorado and my only complaint is that they aren't closer, as I would recommend them for every wedding!!! Not only did they do an absolutely gorgeous job with the bride and her bridesmaids, but they stayed all the way until after the ceremony for any touch ups, which I have literally never seen before! They are so talented and kind, AND although this has nothing to do with HMU, when the wind picked up and literally blew the tablescape away, they were right there helping me getting everything put back together and I can't say how much I appreciated working with both of them. 10/10“

Our headcount kept changing up until right before the wedding, but they were so flexible and made adjusting everything super easy. The overall energy was friendly and relaxed not uptight at all which made the whole visit really comfortable. My stylist, Alex, was amazing. Super friendly, easy to talk to, and made the conversation feel natural the entire time.
