Universal Dental of Hyde Park

I had to add another experience since I could not write a new review. I visited your office again on June 1, 2026 for a cleaning and met another very pleasant and professional patient service rep/front desk receptionist, Bianca.
While I waited for my appointment, I watched her answer multiple phone calls, assist several patients, contact an insurance company, and schedule appointments all while remaining calm, organized, and courteous.
After my cleaning, I needed to schedule a filling. During that conversation, I mentioned that I get nervous during dental procedures. Bianca took the time to listen and recommended a dentist she felt would be a good fit for someone like myself with dental anxiety, which I really appreciated.
She has also called me on weekends to remind me about upcoming appointments and has always been helpful whenever I had questions. When I had billing concerns after making a payment, she patiently explained the process and directed me to the appropriate person for assistance. Bianca truly cares about patients and their needs. I cannot say enough about the front desk staff.

I had an excellent experience with this dental office. I first spoke with Zaleaka, the front desk receptionist, over the phone, and she really stood out. She listened, asked the right questions, and understood that I was dealing with an emergency. She was able to squeeze me in during my lunch break, which I truly appreciated. When I arrived, she continued to be just as helpful and even provided me with a form for my job since I was a few minutes late, acknowledging my visit.
The dental assistant who took my X-rays was patient and made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. The doctor was thorough and honest, offered to refer me to a specialist, and in the meantime provided a prescription for antibiotics and pain medication. I will continue visiting this dental practice and felt well taken care of on 4/23. I highly recommend this office and Zaleaka for her professionalism, compassion, and empathy shown from start to finish. She is definitely a star.

I never leave reviews but when I went to aspen dental (they let you book online for next day) they said that the x-rays taken at universal dental were incomplete and poor quality so they would all need to be retaken. Aspen dental took the x-rays much more quickly and comfortably with newer technology at the same price (both covered by my insurance). Aspen dental is less convenient but much higher quality experience (south loop)

I Loved Everything About This Office. From The Receptionist To The Dentist. Everyone Was So Nice And Kind And Made Me Feel Extremely Comfortable! The Dental Assistant I Had Was Truly The Best! BUT THE DENTIST???? He Had Both Of My Teeth Pulled Out In 10 Seconds!!!!! I Was In And Out! Very Fast Paced Here I Love It And Will Be Coming Here From Now On!

I started my braces journey with Az and Dr. Omar in May 2023, and today I’m officially getting them off — and I couldn’t be more grateful or more confident in my smile. From the very beginning, Az and Dr. Omar made me feel comfortable, informed, and truly cared for. He explained every step clearly and always paid close attention to detail, making sure my treatment stayed on track and that I was happy with the progress.

Walking into each appointment, I felt heard rather than rushed. He was patient, reassuring, and incredibly skilled — it always felt like he genuinely wanted the best results for me, not just “good enough.” Now that my braces are off, I can honestly say he gave me more than straight teeth — he gave me a smile I’m proud of and a boost of confidence I’ll carry with me every day.

The entire staff is just as amazing — always welcoming, kind, and efficient with scheduling and follow-ups.

If you’re looking for an orthodontist who combines expertise with genuine care, I highly recommend. I’m so thankful for my new smile!
