About Tall Ship Windy
Tall Ship Windy, established in 2008, is Chicago's Official Tall Ship, offering sailing tours to thousands of happy guests. This family-friendly adventure sails rain or shine from May to September, with multiple daily departures. Visitors can experience a sunset cruise or a pirate sail, where they can assist with raising the main sail. The crew is very funny and helpful, providing lots of laughs with pirate stories and the history of a Great Lakes Pirate. The guide is funny, though the tour offers more lightweight facts than other architectural tours. Guests can see how the sails are hoisted and enjoy the quiet on the lake when the engines are turned off. The ship has a bar with snacks onboard, allowing everyone to enjoy the skyline views with a refreshing beverage. It is a great experience for both locals and visitors.
Last night thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks tour, staff were friendly and the ship is amazing and can help hoist the sails. Definitely got the closest spot to the beautiful fireworks and the whole experience brought a tear to my eye absolutely out of this world. After fireworks you sail along past lighthouse and relax admiring Chicago’s stunning skyline all lit up at night can’t recommend enough
My husband and I took the architectural skyline tour for our anniversary. We had a great time, not only was it alot of fun but it was also extremely interesting and informative. Learned alot about Chicago's history and architecture. The crew was awesome, friendly and fun!
