Waited to post this review so I could get my extra 3 months of BC… she is truly the worst doctor I’ve ever had. I’m a type 1 diabetic and had seen her a few times without issue and I mentioned I wanted to have kids soon and she looked at me dead in my eyes and said “not with that A1C”. Not that it matters, my A1C for a T1D is really good (low 6.0s??), but even if it wasn’t, would that comment actually motivate me to improve it?? Absolutely insane bedside manner, would give her 1 star but want to make sure this comment isn’t deleted.
I initially met with Dr. Belmonte without having read reviews (scheduling snafu) and my experience with her has been great all the times I’ve seen her. She’s friendly but straightforward, and very thorough which is appreciated here. I have no notes and would recommend!
I was wary of the poor reviews but gave her a try when I read she specialized in my problem areas. I was very uncomfortable with the way she conducted the appointment, as I felt more like I was being interrogated than anything. We spoke at length in her office prior to the exam, which I had never done before but I tried to keep an open mind. I agree with what others have said: she is very cold, condescending and has zero bedside manner. I give her two stars because she is clearly very knowledgeable and, no doubt, a smart, qualified woman but I switched care providers because I need someone more trauma-informed and with at least the slightest bit of bedside manner.
