Needed polish change/ pedicure. Got nail assistance with Barbara as my toes looked very bad. This place doesnt have fancy foot baths but is great for basic gels/polish changes for feet and manicures. Great location at Walton and Michigan st.- super close to doc bs, 900 n Michigan shopping and Gucci. They are located on walton st. near doc bs restaurant on third floor.

This is a weird little nail salon tucked in the basement level of the Seneca. I decided to give it a try despite no reviews anywhere online because I live close by and always walk by the place. I walked in without an appointment on a Saturday morning and didn't have to wait. It is literally the smallest nail salon I have ever been to. The nail techs are Eastern European, I believe, and very very nice. I had my pedicure done by a lady named Anna. They have tons of colors to pick from, but they're not well organized, so it's tough to find a color. However, the nail techs are more than happy to swatch the colors on their own fingernails so you can see what it looks like in real life. I found it very odd that they have no chairs for pedicures. You sit in a normal chair and they bring a foot bath for you. To do your toes, they sit in front of you and have you put your feet/legs up on their lap. It was fine for me, but if you can't do this, definitely don't go to Pretty Nails for a pedi. Despite this odd setup, this does allow them to be very close to your feet, which helps them do a really thorough job. My only complaints: 1. She didn't ask how short I liked my nails and so they are a smidge shorter than I prefer, but they look fine and aren't a big deal. 2. It was pretty expensive -- $46 for a normal pedicure with tip. Not sure how much the other services cost. All in all, a thorough job, super nice, and very attentive. The other two clients there were ladies who live in the Seneca building and came regularly. Everyone (nail techs and clients) was talking about mushroom recipes during my time there, which was funny but also made it feel more like a place where they really care and get to know their clients. I have a place I love up in Evanston, but if I'm closer to home, price aside, I would definitely try this place again.
