This review is not a reflection of other Lavin Pavilion physicians or facilities, this review only pertains to the PRE OP clinic located on Floor 17This clinic is nothing short of a horror show. They take you in, you see a nurse practitioner who acts like an arrogant know it all constantly cutting you off mid sentence as you try to describe a complex medical history. This really shows how they truly *dont care* all they care about is filling out their little bureaucratic BS form that my primary care doctor typically would file for any other hospital, only does Northwestern force you to use their PRE OP clinic. At that its irregular, for a neurosurgery in 2021 I was able to use my own doctor, a doctor who knows my fkn medical history.Instead this idiot of a NP decided she can delete my allergy records for Penicillins and Macrolides, she said "Everyone gets yeast infections and diarrhea from these, thats not a negative reaction or allergy" TOTAL BS - The yeast infections cost YOU, US TAXPAYERS $3000+ each time they happen from these BS antibiotics that shouldn't be used on me.Worse yet they had an anesthesiologist come in who was rude condescending and acted like a know it all. I HAVE AUTISM AND CEREBRAL PALSY, I HAVE THE BRAIN OF A 20 YEAR OLD AND THE BODY OF A 20 YEAR OLD. ALL OF MY OTHER HOSPITALS FOLLOW PEDIATRIC CODE.Here they decided that they'd say "We're going to start your IV in the pre op room" I told them "No, thats not how pediatric code works, that's not how my other 100 surgeries I've had across my lifetime worked. they take me in back, hook me up to the anesthesia machine, push the gas and when I am relaxed enough I release my arm and say "go for IV" It's been standard operating procedure at my usual hospital for so long that the anesthesiologists expect it as part of the SOP for me. I am very defensive (I won't let people touch my arms and keep them close to my body) until I am under the Nitrous and Sevoflurane mix to make my muscles and sensory nerves calm enough for the large IV line to go in. Then they had the nerve to tell me to stop enteral feeding (G-Tube Feeding) at midnight because they might call same day to change the surgery time. Never in over 100 surgeries has there been a same day change, I live a good hour drive in good traffic from this hospital, you can't change the surgery time same day on me, that's a d*$& move. This hospital is literally trying to f@*$ me up, lucky me I've outsmarted them already and told my hospitals to disregard their medical record updates AND I've contacted a malpractice attorney to be on standby.I will not hesitate to walk out of pre-op unit on Friday if they don't obey my standard operating procedure around IV's and OR procedures. This hospital has gone from decent, to total garbage in the last year and a half.
The Lavin Pavilion is one of many many buildings on the Northwestern medical campus. The 24 floors of the Lavin pavilion host imaging and nutritional services, opthomology, pain management specialists, rehab services, women's health, and more. There's a Stan's Donuts on the first floor, and Woodwind is on the 18th. Woodwind has a really nice outdoor space, and this building has a nice view. LYFE Kitchen and Sweet Mandy B's also have locations in here. There's also a Walgreens and Vision center in the building. They have several floors of parking. Half of the parking entrance is currently a drive-through COVID testing site--enter on the Erie side. You can get the parking validated at your doctors office, but it'll still cost a minimum of $13 for parking.
