I've been coming to Golden Shears ever since I was a kid. In my opinion, nobody does layers like Anila. I’m always very satisfied with my hair cuts and they have some of the best prices in the city.

My sister saw the hair cut and high light Anila did and said she wanted to go there when she visited next time. She came and got the same great cut. Anila is very nice and is a perfectionist when it comes to hair. Allow a lot of time, because perfection won't come quickly! Still, highly recommended. 2025–still going here eleven years later! Five c stars all around. I’ve moved but still come here.

I hit up Golden Shears in North Center for a much-needed refresh—got a women’s cut and blowout that set me back about $95 before tip. Anila really knows her stuff; she listened to what I wanted and delivered a cut that had me feeling brand new. The salon's vibe is laid-back and welcoming, nothing too fancy, but they get the job done right. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because my appointment started about 15 minutes late, which threw off my schedule a bit. But overall, solid experience and I’d definitely recommend them if you're looking for quality service without the downtown pretentiousness.
