I recently visited Aveda & scheduled my appointment for a balayage and cut... after consulting with my stylist we ended up doing a partial highlight instead to achieve my hair colour inspiration! Veronica did such an amazing job, she was so professional & I left with the best results I've ever had from a student stylist. Already booked another appointment with her for the future and really admire the students' professionalism at this institute. I also purchased the botanical repair shampoo & conditioner, it's amazing so worth the $! Can't wait to go back!!!
I had my first facial at this location on Clark and Diversey a few weeks back and came back as the service was the perfect self care treat. I typically come to this location for chemical peels and haircuts. The facial experience was spectacular. I received a 90 minute facial which included various relaxing and soothing textures and aromas. It was my aesthetician's first day working in clients and let me tell you, her skills and professionalism appeared as if she's been doing facials for a lifetime. I highly recommend this service but especially with the Anaja the facial expert.
So here's the thing: it's cheap but you get what you pay for. They consistently refuse to train the students to do "textured" hair (a misnomer if ever there was one, as all hair has a texture). My hair is 3B/3C and they acted like it was the world's most difficult challenge to blow out. They really made me feel like Black hair is the worst thing they could face. My hair doesn't tangle easy and it's not terribly damaged-it just isn't perfectly straight, which is fine. It makes more sense to go to professionals whose attitude is that hair is just hair-regardless of race-and give me the incredibly simple things I ask for without dehumanizing me
