As an avid Amtrak fan, I spend many days transferring trains in Chicago. I always do a spa day. This is a somewhat niche review but I just wanted to post a warning to any other Amtrak riders out there, these spa appointments are truly not refundable! No complaints with the policy but if you ride Amtrak you know 10% of the time you are going to miss your appointment, so be respectful of the policy and book with another spa!
I've been coming to cowshed (located in soho house) for about 10 years for their amazing massages. Every masseuse I've had has been great. It's pricey ($120 for 30 min signature massage) but worth a treat every so often. When you arrive they take you to a relaxing lounge with lemon water to change into a comfy robe and flip flops. You can hang out in the lounge after. The soaps/shampoos in their showers / at their sinks smell amazing. I've only done nails once years ago and it was not worth the price. But I'll definitely be coming back consistently for massages. One annoying thing is that they charge 100% cancelation fees within 24 hrs of service which is pretty difficult to handle with 2 kids which could mean a last minute emergency. But I was able to book a same day appointment to deal with this.
The spa here is second to none. I’ve been a regular for over a year and this review is long overdue. If you’re looking for a relaxing manicure or pedicure done by well trained manicurists, look no further. Bebe and Adriana are my go-to ladies, but everyone is on the same level. The massages are also spectacular. I’ve tried multiple therapists and they’ve all been wonderful and careful to work with my injuries - my friend also sees them for pre-natal massages and is obsessed.
In the service industry it all begins and ends with the first point of contact, (the front desk in this case) and they’re the real MVPs. Every interaction with them has always been...read full review
