This salon is the best!! Was in town for vacation and they got me in for a hair color. Had the color line. Lena is so nice and did a great job on my hair. Thank you to Mel for washing and styling my hair. Will be back whenever in Chicago!! Thank you ladies again 😊

Lena is a "cut above the rest", no pun intended. She is the best in the business and I am a licensed Cosmetologist. She is by far the best hairdresser in the entire Gold Coast, and Chicago for the most part. The rest of the team are wonderful as well, a true family.

A friend recommended Lena, a hair stylist of this salon, to me; she is the owner of the salon. So, I wanted to make an appointment with her, but she was booked up for almost two weeks, so I decided to accept any hair stylist available. While I was waiting for my turn, I was offered some tea. It was my first time in my life to be offered tea at a hair saIon. On that day it was very cold outside, and my hands were still cold even inside the salon, so the hot tea was really welcome, and I deeply appreciated it. My hair stylist was Donna. I asked her to do a dry haircut. She sounded not very happy about that. It seems she believes that, without washing the hair first, a haircut can't be perfect. However, she did a great job. I was very happy with her haircut. I recommend this salon and Donna to everyone.

I have now been searching for a stylist to make my hair look the way I want it to look. I didn't want a mullet haircut but I couldn't communicate this to ANY stylist for the last 25 years, yes 25 years!!!!!!! I would walk away frustrated and think this is NOT what I wanted. FINALLY, I took a chance because I loved some of my neighbors' haircuts and went to Art of Hair Design Salon in Old Town. Lina IMMEDIATELY understood what I was trying to communicate to her. She cut the length a little which is what I wanted but not short and changed the structure of my hair design from mullet to a beautiful full flattering hair style. The woman who washed my hair was amazing as well. (I'm sorry I forgot your name)!!! It's been so long since I've been to a hair salon where the stylist actually listened to me and UNDERSTOOD what I wanted. Next, I will do color. Lina is extremely talented, kind and doesn't take forever to cut and style my hair. I am so happy that I will also return to buy some of the hair products they used on my hair. Thank you Lina!!!!!

My husband and I have been going here for 15 years. We now bring our kids. A gem of talented and kind stylists. Lina the owner is fantastic, truly passionate about her work, and genuinely cares about each of her clients. You won't find a more talented and pleasant salon (and comparatively affordable).

Since 2012, no one has touched my hair. Lina, Bona, and the whole team at Art of Hair Design are incredibly talented. The passion for their craft is felt in every visit. Despite living overseas, I just can’t trust anyone else for cut, color, brows, styling, etc. Beyond being best in class and incredibly creative, they are super well connected in the community and have, in countless occasions, made great referrals.
