I had PTSD from these electrical surges that were happening with our ac unit. We couldn’t figure it out. My husband replaced the contactor and it was still doing it. The house was cool but we had these sounds. Everyone here said there was nothing wrong because it was cooling, but I’m home all summer and know all the sounds. I knew something was wrong as the sound kept getting louder and louder upon system start up and then it would also have this electrical surge while running. I was really freaked out.
