It is a good hair salon. Each individual hair dresser has been well trained and possess great skills and experiences, and pricing are very reasonable. However, very inconsistent on their availability. Difficult to get appointments in consistent intervals due to hight turnover of staffs.

Really enjoyed my haircut at Arukas! Keiko was great and was very detailed with my hair! Also I love that each seat comes with a charger so you can charge your phone while getting your hair cut!

I will never go here ever again I had the worst experiences I scheduled an early appointment I regret it so much so the girl that cut my hair I don’t even remember her name but she did horrible job. I never in my life had someone not wash my hair before cutting my hair she brushed my hair and cut my hair dry. Worst experience ever every since I cut my hair there my hair been breaking so bad and loosing my hair. If I could give a zero rate I would.

Let me start off by saying that just because it's a Japanese salon, it does not mean you have to be Japanese speaking to get an amazing experience. I am someone who has had terrible luck with salons; nobody ever got my haircuts how I really wanted them and as a result I had avoided getting a haircut for several years. I decided to give Aruka's a try as I had seen them when I'd go shopping at Mitsuwa (which it's in the same building as) and had been curious. I did have to make an appointment quite a while in advance (over a month) but it was worth the wait. When the day finally came, I was very nervous as I am not Japanese and I had anxiety getting my hair done in general. However, Nao was absolutely amazing. He not only speaks English but also gave me the best salon experience I've ever had. The shampoo had me sold already, very good smelling shampoo and the scalp massage made me almost fall asleep. As for the haircut, I showed him some photos of what I wanted, and he got it nearly exactly how it looked in the picture with some added features he suggested trying after getting a look at my hair. Very detail oriented and very meticulous in his process as well and the results show it for sure! The customer service is amazing, Nao emailed me a couple of days after my visit to make sure I was still happy with my haircut. I am going back to him soon to get a 5 step treatment and some bangs cut into my hair. I hope he doesn't retire for a very long time, as I've finally found "my" stylist!
