I used this company to check my furnace in December when there was a suspicious odor coming from the outside vent. Very strong gas odor. I contacted Nicor Gas to check it out and was told there was a reading of very high levels of carbon monoxide coming from the vent. Nicor technician said the furnace should be turned off until serviced. Technician wrote a ticket and said to show it to heating company , this was very dangerous. Grel Heating sent Robert who checked it out and said the furnace was fine and that there is always carbon monoxide coming from a furnace. Not to worry if there was a smell. I can not recommend Grel highly enough after they replaced my 30-year-old AC. They were courteous and prompt throughout the entire process. Their quote was extremely reasonable. Moreover, I did NOT have to deal with pushy salesmen trying to sell me expensive units I didn't need. Grel simply got the job done, and just in time for a heat wave! Great workmanship as well and they pay attention to the small details, like adjusting my hvac drip pipe so I no longer trip over it constantly while doing laundry.
