About Burr Oak Cemetery

Burr Oak Cemetery is a well-maintained and friendly cemetery that provides a positive experience for visitors. The grounds are well-kept, with mowed grass covering the entire property. The staff, both in the office and on the grounds, are described as very friendly and helpful. The cemetery has a policy of locking the office door, but visitors can call the posted phone number to receive assistance. If visitors have difficulty locating a grave, the staff will dispatch a grounds worker to help. While some of the wooden lot marker stakes have not been maintained, the overall experience at the cemetery is reported to be good.

The bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
My mother, brother, grandmother, aunt, and 4 of my cousins are buried here. We have never had a problem with burr oak before or after the changes of ownership. Thank God we never experienced any rough, soft, wet, or unsettled land near our loved ones. They have attended to all of our needs, met our request, and have superceded our families' expectations. Make sure your making your special request like locations close to or near your buried loved ones years in advance and not expecting them to meet your last-minute advances. No cemeteries are perfect, not even our own backyards.

I have no one buried here; but all cemeteries remove flowers, balloons etc. at different times of the year. I would put down and make cemetery wreaths in December. They would stay down a while then be removed. Check with the cemetery. Could be because it's easier to do up keep around the grave area. And some things of memory fly away.

My sister and I chose to lay my parents to rest in 2019 and 2020. What I don't like about this cemetery is that they take away very nice, expensive, sentimental things away from my parent's grave site and want replace them, without any remorse or care. I wish I would have known about them removing balloons, flowers, gates, and other sentimental things. I don't think we would have chosen Burr Oaks as their final resting place.
