My experience at Iowa Home Care included challenges with communication, consistency, and overall support from leadership. Feedback was not always provided directly, and communication at times felt indirect. Expectations could shift without clear guidance, making it difficult to consistently meet performance standards.
Workload expectations did not always feel evenly distributed and, at times, appeared to single out certain employees. Additionally, there were concerns with how performance management and terminations were handled, including limited explanation or follow-up.
I would recommend carefully evaluating role expectations and leadership structure before accepting a position. Based on my experience, I would not consider this an employer of choice.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff went above and beyond to care for my grandfather, providing top-notch in-home healthcare with kindness and compassion. Their dedication and expertise made a huge difference in his life, and we're so grateful for their support. Highly recommend!

If I could give zero stars I would. They have been nothing but difficult never have the staff to come and care for my brother and when they do they aren't with a damn tbh. Not only that but never show up when they are to come. I don't understand how they are hired to care for people and pay such crap to not have the money to staff people. It's frustrating enough that we as his family can't be there to help or care for our loved one but to have to constantly worry about if someone is gonna be there or if someone is gonna show up is sad ! And to have the workers who do come just stand around twiddling their thumbs still having us do it . It's all around sad and disgusting!

My experience with Rebekah Kush as an CNA instructor with this school has been the WORST. Something is deeply wrong with this lady. She is very miserable and unprofessional. Now I see why they don’t get any cna students. The tests were always worded wrong it would be different answers than the book she had me studying in. When it came to doing hands on in the lab, we always had to “pretend” because she never has all the items you need to use for practice. She left me standing outside the first week waiting on her for 17 mins after 8am, when she’s the same person trying to tell somebody to be on time, I had to blow her phone up to see when she would be there. She races through all the material, barely giving you time to take notes. And we always have leftover time that she uses to leave early or gossip and we could’ve used that time to go slower through things she skipped or could’ve gave me a chance to take notes on it and. Then she will threaten you with not passing but barely helps you understand anything and when you do ask her extra questions to better understand things she will start getting smart or treating you like your slow. I was so miserable by the time the first week got over!! We were always leaving early or getting done early for things she had to do. Then when clinical started the next week all she did was sit in a room in the back from Tuesday to Thursday and she did not come check on my skills, she expected me to come check in on her instead of getting her lazy a** up and coming to see what I was doing, like I wasn’t working back to back with patients. When I did come back to the room to take my breaks instead of checking how I’m doing and asking what we did, all she did was gossip about the CFO of Iowa home care and gossip about all the staff at the clinical site. It was getting annoying and I focused on getting my clinicals over with. On friday I was two minutes late, I been there every day before 8am. Mind you she was running 15 min late to clinicals the day before, and I had to wait on her to get buzzed in. She was disrespectful and talking to me like I’m her child. She start trying to go back and forth about me being late and I tell her she was just late yesterday and I couldn’t even start clinicals until she got there, I’m 2 min late on my last day and she was 15 min late yesterday. Then she says we will have to stay late today, if that’s the case we should’ve been staying late all the times you left early or was late. She was raising her voice in the lobby so everyone can hear her and I’m talking in a calm voice and asking her why is she yelling and I’m right here and she could’ve pulled me aside not try to cause a scene, but I realized she was trying to get a reaction out of me so bad. She kept threatening to not finish my CNA class if I didn’t fix the imaginary attitude she said I had. We definitely would’ve went to court. I was to trying to reach a resolution because she constantly wanted to keep going back in forth about the same thing and I was ready to start working so once I started trying to move on from it she started to pretend like I was angry and my attitude was bad, so at that point I was just over it and realized how miserable she was and that something is clearly wrong her. Mind you I had a great week there and everybody there liked me. And she even had the nerve to tell the cna workers I was working with on the floor that if I don’t change my attitude with her, she would fail me. And they would all come back and tell me everything she said because they liked me and respected me and seen how miserable she was. This is why I have no respect for her, because in what world would you think it’s okay to be an instructor and sit up and gossip with workers on the floor about a student. Then she tried to be funny and say she was going to mail out my certificate, when I clearly could’ve picked it up. Moral of the story don’t waste your time! Go to Evelyn Davis or Dmacc.

I’ve been a client of Iowa Home Care for a short time but my bath aid Ms. Lisa is phenomenal, she goes above and beyond and truly cares about her clients! If she ever retires I honestly don’t know what I would do, and God forbid this company takes her for granted I would have to take my business elsewhere, unfortunately!!! Also they have the kindest intake personnel including Olivia, who made me feel supported especially being disabled, that means the world to me. I’ve never had a bath aid who cares so much about your mental health just as much as my physical health, which a lot of people wouldn’t care about your mental health but Ms. Lisa does. Also my cats love her and they are fantastic judges of character, and if they don’t like you when they first meet you, I promise there is something wrong with you and your character. I’m so thankful for Ms. Lisa and Olivia so please give them their flowers, they completely deserve them!!! So thank you to Iowa home Care, please keep up the good work!!!

Poor services on not having enough workers: My brother prefers not to have male but they are always trying to send a male, when other calls in so then he does not get the care he needs.

I have been with Iowa Homr Care in an administrative/management position for 9 years. In a previous life, I was a CNA in the nursing home. Recently, due to ongoing staffing issues, I refreshed my knowledge of personal care, and began to take care of clients in the field. Not just one or two, but multiple. I feel like this has allowed me to renew my sense of purpose in life. The fact that so many humans rely on us, and the fact that I, and anyone at Iowa Home Care, are allowed to give back to these humans, is the most amazing gift I've been given in a very, very long time.#homecare #homeisbetter #iowahomecare

I will forever be so thankful that I made the decision to make the jump and accept a position with IHC. This company has been absolutely incredible, and I love the friends that have become my work family. I love how much this company truly wants to serve and love their clients and community.
