Gosh I’m so glad my time w them is finally over. The doctors I had no complaints, but whoever took the phone call I’m ultimately stunned. I called in to ask if they received my mental health evals and how soon I could’ve gotten an appointment. I was asking neutrally and politely. Lady on the phone cut me off and started yelling NOs at me atrociously for absolutely no reason? I wish I recorded her so I can put it here for everyone to listen. if you can’t answer a phone call properly maybe get another freaking job? I hope somebody return the yelling at her next time when she needs care.

I’ve unfortunately had to use the health clinic for as long as I’ve been a student here for many of reasons. After finally ditching the clinic and seeking out a professional center I’ve realised just how unprofessional and unfriendly those at the student health clinic are. The last thing a student needs is a judgmental, rude, and frankly disrespectful attendant like Kimyata to walk them back to the doctors room. Even then when the doctor arrives, don’t expect any actual headway on your care. They’re just as dismissive and unhelpful. You’re simply another student, another patient, another number. Having gone to Iowa for undergrad and now grad school I’ve had plenty of opportunity to use student health. I cannot say enough good things about the providers and medical support staff. However there is a major issue with whoever fields phone calls for the clinic. Every interaction I’ve ever had with them ranges from dismissive at best to downright hostile. This has been a problem for YEARS. In no other clinic would this be tolerated by the staff; they only get away with it because most students are too timid to speak up. Us students deserve better.
