Dr. Shanks is so thorough, knowledgeable and professional. The care she provides has been on another level from traditional health care providers. She will look for and find the cause and develop a proactive plan, and not simply treat symptoms in a reactionary fashion with meds etc...

I purchased a deal on Groupon.com for a $25/hr massage. I honestly thought very little of it but I wanted a massage and was willing to try a few new places out. I used to go to a local massage school in Los Angeles because it was affordable and I could usually get convenient appointments. I hadn't had a massage in a pretty long time, and never in Iowa City. I was very, very surprised! Melicia Sissel was professional and she really listened to me, my body, and gave me suggestions about what I could do for some foot pain that I was having. The massage was one of the better ones that I've had. She was spot-on with the pressure, and adjusted it when I asked her for more. I'm definitely going back!
