Braid too tight. Took out a lot of my hair where I was already thinning in spots. I should have known better because I stopped going to them for a while because the same girl that sits in the front braided my hair too tight last visit.

Isha(the lady with the little girl) was the rudest braider I have ever experienced. This 1 star is for her as a reflection on the shop as a whole. I came in for small knotless braids and what I received was a rushed job that looked like large parts with small braids and nothing but defensive responses when I asked her to fix. I will make a separate post on the braider who saved the day. BUT ISHA get a ZERO star if I could took my money and didn't even care that I was not satisfied and didn't care to stay and help the braider that fixed my hair... I'm wondering if her behavior would have been the same if Mai was there (she was out of country) if it wasn't for the braider that saved the day Isha would have taken me there!!! Just RUDE and Unapologetic!

I’ve been going to Mai for braids for over three years at this point. Not only does my hair always look amazing but she’s always so kind and makes the experience positive. After all this time she really knows what i like and makes sure everything looks good. I very highly recommend Mai’s African Hair Braiding.
