My sister and I went to two other Monument businesses before finding Indianola Memorial Works. What an experience! We worked with Marty and he was very easy to work with, helped us figure out placement of pictures. We wanted on our mom‘s memorial stone, and even drew a picture for us that we couldn’t find in the book! He Did tell us that it would take several months for the stone to be finished and we were hopeful that we could get it by Memorial Day. He told us at first that it would be close and he couldn’t promise, but as the date came nearer, he did say that he thought it could be possible. Turned out it was and when we saw it. both loved it! It was a perfect way to make a memorial of the things our mom loved in life. We were so very happy and our family members were there that weekend to see it and they loved it! Thank you so much Marty for all that you did. This is the place to go.

My sister and I needed a monument to honor our mother who has passed away. We had been to two other companies that were very insensitive and unhelpful before finding Indianola Memorial Works. Working with Marty was such a positive experience. Marty tailored the graphics we chose to be exactly what we envisioned. He gave us clear communication on what to expect. We were hopeful that the monument would be finished by Memorial Day. (Please note- we first met with him in September.. he was very clear that it is not a quick process and that he would try.) He did everything he could to have it there in time. It was indeed done in time for Memorial Day and turned out just beautiful. We and our family members couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you so much to Marty and to Indianola Memorial Works.

We have purchased a couple of monuments from Indianola Memorial works. We appreciate Marty’s assistance and professionalism. When we requested a tweak to a headstone that had just been placed, Marty took immediate care of it. Thanks for taking care of us. The Harkin Family.

I've sent 2 emails and called 3 times in the last month and have gotten no responses. I ordered a headstone for my son in September of 2023 and paid half of the cost upfront. They said it would be finished in April 2024 but, I haven't heard from anyone since I ordered. If it's not done, that's fine, but professional courtesy would be to reach out and let us know. If they don't plan on completing the order I'd like my money back.

We were scheduled today at 12:30 pm to have Indianola Memorial Works come in and open up my grandparents headstone to place my grandparents and uncle's urns into their headstone today. Not 1 person contacted my mother to tell us that they weren't coming today. My entire family has been standing here and waiting for over 1 hour for them to show up. We are very crushed that this has happened and we hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.

If there was a negative star option, I would choose it!!! It's been over a year since we ordered and payed in full for my parents headstone and it's still not even engraved!!! They have lied numerous times and told me it was done and they were waiting on the cemetery, so after doing their job for them and working with the cemetery, it turns out it's not done at all!!! Horrible customer service, in a sensitive profession!!!

Unbelievable!!Just talked to the owner, Stone has been paid for in early April, still telling us he has no idea when the stone will be there. When asked if he's called to find out when the stone will be there he tells me no he hasn't called. He told us when we ordered the headstone that it would be in before the ground froze. DO NOT pay for everything up front!! Tells me he's waiting on 200 stones. Ask how many different companies he buys Stone from, he tells me four. So all he has to do is make a 5-minute phone call to one of four companies to find out and let his customers know the status of the Stone that he has promised to them many, many months ago. He became irritated that I would want to actually know when the marker would be done. I asked him to call the company he ordered the Stone from and then call me back and let me know the status of when the stone would be delivered to him to engrave, that was an hour ago no phone call yet, very doubtful I'll have a phone call from him. My next call is to my 81-year-old father to tell him what's going on and that we need to get his money back and find a different company. What a waste of time!! Zero transparency by this company!!Just got off the phone with my father, it seems he was told over a month ago a completely different story. He was told that the headstone was actually done and they were just waiting on having five headstones completed before they came to Des Moines because that was more cost-effective.11/9/2023- Just wanted to let everyone know Marty still hasn't called me back to let me know when the stone is arriving. Absolutely not shocked.

My Mother has been Passed since June 27th 2022. This place has been paid in full for finishing my Mother's markings. They keep issuing excuses on why they can't finish My Parent's gravestone. Excuses after Excuses. I would recommend not paying this company without work being completely finished. Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional..
