The staff I've dealt with in the building were always nice, and easy to get along with. My issue comes with the billing department. I was approved for financial assistance and sent the approval letter to the billing department as they requested, both via USPS and fax. For months I continued receiving the same bill, never with any financial assistance applied. I'd call and talk to someone, they'd tell me they would investigate and put my bill on hold for a month while they did so. Every month I'd get the same bill for the same amount and call to discuss with the billing department and the cycle would continue. I want to give this hospital a huge shout-out. My grandpa was admitted for a broken femur, and the nurses and staff have been incredibly kind and friendly. They consistently made sure he was comfortable and managed his severe pain quickly. He also underwent surgery on his femur, which was a complete success. Even though he lost a liter of blood during the procedure and his blood pressure dropped, the team acted fast to get it back up and keep him stable. I am so grateful he was placed in the best possible hands. Thanks to this wonderful staff, he is on track for a full recovery. I highly recommend MercyOne if you or a loved one need hospitalized care.
I would never recommend this hospital. As a healthcare provider myself the treatment I saw first hand was highly disrespectful. The ER staff had to have been a joke. We waiting 45+min in the lobby to finally get let into the ER because we were waiting to see our family member. There was lack of communication, and we were told by the front desk that they have notified the nurse and we would be let in “shortly.” When we were finally let into the ER the nurse was never awake that we were waiting to see them.
