We are looking to renovate the cabinets and countertops of our kitchen as well as our office. We own a penthouse in Aiea. My husband owns his own business and I work for DoD. We are college educated professionals. This is the first time that we are engaging in such a large (for us!) project and we looked at Yelp for guidance in finding businesses to assist us. John Cook was one of many that we called and left a message for. We got a callback today from a nice lady who was interested in getting back to us and asked a few questions such as how did we hear about them, what were we were interested in, and our budget. We just completed our kitchen remodel which consisted to totally gutting it and cutting back a wall. So everything is brand new from floor to ceiling and we couldn't be happier. We did a lot of research and leg work before we settled on John Cook Kitchens. Shelley, (who's a certified designer) worked with us and really listened to our concerns and wants. We already had a design in mind but wasn't sure how it would all work. She was extremely patient and detail oriented to make sure everything would fit and work together. She also gave some good suggestions and brought up things we hadn't considered. And she wasn't in the least bit pushy or trying... read full review
