“First off, the facilities definitely have the "you're here to relax" vibe. The staff were very welcoming and quick to check me in for my appointment. I had Sharon as my practitioner and she was fantastic. It was my first time trying acupuncture and cupping...I couldn't turn down the new patient special but I was nervous. I don't suffer from chronic pain but pain and tension are present in my daily life. I instantly felt "flow" when the first needle was put in so it really does work. Sharon did mention that it is a building process. She created a treatment plan where she recommend I come once a week for 4-6 weeks to see full results. I will definitely be back.“

“Naturopathic medicine is SO scientifically advanced. As I've learned more about it, I've realized that doctors like Dr. Taketa-Wong have a unique understanding of biochemistry. That's why she was able to identify the underlying causes of symptoms like mine. And that's why she continues to prescribe herbs and supplements and certain foods to heal those causes. It's a great combination of advanced science and natural remedies.I have been a patient of Dr. Taketa-Wong for 10 years. As I've grown older, several chronic conditions have presented themselves. One of them is a severe digestive condition that conventional medicine had no answers for. It was a scary time. I was in misery for months until the doctor did some advanced laboratory tests. The results proved her initial diagnosis, and I've been on a regimen of Chinese and Western herbs and tinctures -- along with certain foods -- that keep my condition under control and allow me to live a fairly normal life. Amazing. Life changing. Also, I like they way Dr. Taketa-Wong is on the cutting edge of medicine. She's always researching new therapies to help her patients. I'm the beneficiary of that, because I'm using a high tech device called NeurOptimal. It's this amazing new brain technology packed into a laptop. I just listen to music for 30-minutes and it actually retrains my brain. I became a believer because my mood and sleep started improving after only a few sessions. But the most surprising result is that another chronic condition involving bladder issues has also resolved! In short, Dr. Taketa-Wong is a rare gem in this world.“

“I have been seeing Henry on and off for several years for an assortment of ailments. He listens to my concerns and comes up with a plan that truly feels like "magic happened". He is very knowledgeable and a caring soul. When things warrant a special concoction of herbs he always makes the right choice and within a day you know you're on the mend. If you are considering acupuncture, do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Henry. Convenient location with plenty of parking, check his website for insurance information but cash prices are certainly fair. His office is a peaceful sanctuary that I always look forward to visiting.“

“we thank our blessings every day that our paths crossed with dr. uchida's. she is literally an angel residing earthside. i had very irregular menstrual cycles (sometimes going three months without one) and whenever i did have a period, they were often quite heavy lasting more than seven days... my longest being thirty days. on top of that, when we actually started tracking our ovulation window, we realized my luteal phase (the fourteen days after ovulation) was short and/or i would start spotting seven/ eight days in, which is not ideal for the success of a fertilized egg implanting into my uterine lining if it's already beginning to shed. not ever officially "diagnosed," but it was stated that i could possibly have endometreosis, adenomyosis, and pcos.so we began working with dr. uchida in january 2021 and i began a journey of NOURISHING my body three times a day with a specific diet that would support our fertility journey. it was HARD for me... eating wasn't something i did well... i tended to fast a lot and usually only ate once a day, sometimes two. she gently explained to me that my ovaries were one of the last things in my body to be nourished because i didn't need them to survive... eating three times a day, ESPECIALLY protein, would help to ensure they were getting the nutrients needed. she also started me on various herbs and pills that would help to nourish my body as well. as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, she adjusted my treatments, herbs, and pills accordingly; carefully observing how my body and menstrual cycle were responding. she was able to help me get my periods fairly regular... maybe about every six weeks instead of three months... and they were all a week long with only a couple of days being heavy instead of all of them! they also stopped being extremely clotty and much more flowy.and at the end of january 2022 we found out we were pregnant! we were beyond excited and dreamed of the family we were going to have... however, in march of 2022, God decided to keep our baby and our hearts broke into a million pieces. dr. uchida was such a HUGE support system during this tragic time for us... she didn't just physically help our body to recover from this loss, she was mentally and emotionally there for us, too. she MOTHERED us as if we were her own daughter... allowing us to cry and feel all our feels while wiping away our tears and hugging us. she was a safe space in an already difficult place to be.we continued our treatments and i finally began to practice qigong (as recommended by dr. uchida back in january 2021, but i never committed to). i mostly did it to give myself something new to focus on and to hopefully keep myself from going down a road of depression. i soon discovered that i loved the practice and it REALLY helped to transmute my energy into a positive, life giving force that not only kept my spirits up, but supported my fertility journey physically by clearing out all the negative/ blocked/ stagnant energy that happened to be stuck in certain areas of my body. it was refreshing and i liked that i could actually FEEL my qi moving within me after a class. i highly recommend it if you're the slightest bit interested in it.in august of 2022, we found out we were once again pregnant. but because of our previous experience and how an experience like that changes you, this time around we were cautiously excited and hopeful... i held my breath at each ultrasound and prayed for only good news. the weeks slowly turned into months and dr. uchida supported us through it all. when we had nausea for ten weeks, she made sure to ease it as much as she could with specific acupuncture points and encouraged us to continue eating as much as we could, even if it wasn't on the diet, because it was important to continue trying to nourish body while it worked incredibly hard to create and sustain new life. in april of 2023, we welcomed our beautiful baby into this world. .i fully believe that because of the treatment i was receiving and the herbs“

“Prior to seeing Lucia Chung, I've seen 5 other accupuncturists. Two of which were the most well known at that time. I had minimal results at best. Lucia is not only very professional, it's because of her professionalism, your confidence in her just grows. She's treated me for bells palsy, heat exhaustion, eczema, poor circulation in my legs, and a re-occuring shoulder injury from judo. I have ALWAYS been satisfied with her treatment. In my opinion, I feel I found one of the BEST!!!“

“Mei is a thoughtful and professional practitioner. I was having mystery foot pain and saw a podiatrist first but decided to supplement treatment with acupuncture. I credit most of my recovery to Mei as she took so much time to listen and advise me on what to do between appointments. Thank you!“

“This is a small Chinese medicine clinic (traditional medicine practiced in East Asia, mainly China) run by an old man, who prescribes Chinese medicine and administers acupuncture.Although the interior doesn't have a nice interior, it is kept clean and feels like a traditional Chinese medicine clinic.Parking is available at the back. Enter the building from King street. If you have a bad lower back due to a stiff lower back, it will prick you in the exact spot and heal you. It's electroacupuncture.I have received acupuncture treatment in many places in Hawaii, but nowhere has it been as effective as here. After the acupuncture treatment, I was given Chinese herbal medicine (oral medicine and compress) to help my lower back.I think it depends on the type of insurance, but I used UHA and it was $10.I am grateful that you were able to heal me this time. I had undergone treatment twice at other acupuncture clinics in Waikiki, but it didn't work at all, but here it was a one-shot.I want my grandfather who is a Chinese medicine doctor to live a long life.“

“I live in the SF Bay Area, but I will fly from the Bay Area to see Dr Wong in Honolulu. I have had a hard time finding a good acupuncturist in the Bay Area. Most doctors care more about money rather than treating patients. Dr. wong was nice and very patient. She took time to explain my problems, even patiently teaching me how to diagnose my problems myself by looking at my own tongue. She really helped me improve and get better.“
