“I just had my first acupuncture appointment with Dahlia yesterday and I'm so happy with my decision to try it for the first time. Dahlia is so personable! She emailed to follow up on making my appointment, checked if my insurance covered treatment and worked with the time I was free on Monday (only day she's in Kailua). We sat and talked about acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion and a few other techniques she uses. She explained everything very simply and right off I was comfortable and sure I was in good, highly qualified hands. The ambiance was great. Smelled like incense and essential oils. It was quiet, warm and comfortable. Very clean and shabby chic lol. Dahlia assured me that the needles would be nearly painless and they were. She did an assessment of my pulses (idk if that's correct) and figured out where and how to insert the needles. She stepped out of the room for a few minutes and I drifted off in my mind. Taking out the needles were painless, it actually felt great. I felt like my blood was flowing easier (idk if that's correct either! Lol). Once I got off of the table I felt light as a feather, very relaxed, in fact, almost like I was high! It was amazing. I went home and had a wonderful night with my gf laughing and enjoying each other. Not sure if the acupuncture had anything to do with it but I enjoyed myself anyways! I would recommend going to see Dahlia if you have never had acupuncture done and are a little apprehensive. My first appointment was 1 1/2 hours long because Dahlia really did sit with me and ask me questions to really personalize my treatment. I've never had a conventional doctor ask me as much or make me feel like my treatment was tailored just for me! Side note: You can park at the municipal parking garage behind the building. To get there you have to enter on the same road McD's entrance is. The entrance is next to Hawaii National Bank (not McDs side). BRING SOME CHANGE because the parking is metered unless you risk parking on the street.“
