Dr. Choi is excellent at what he does, and I have no complaints about his care. However, the way his office is managed is frustrating. They rarely answer the phone or return calls promptly, and their voicemail states they're open when they're actually closed. I was scheduled for an outpatient procedure at KVMH, but no one informed me that the office would be closed for an extended Christmas break. This left me without any way to reach the clinic for questions or concerns leading up to and after the procedure. While I appreciate Dr. Choi, the lack of communication from his office makes it difficult for patients to get the support they need. Unfortunately, since this is the only Pain Clinic on the island, I don't have other options--but if I did, I would strongly consider switching.

Dr. Choi is one of the nicest doctors! He has changed my life with helping me find the right injections, medications, and doctors to operate on my back! His staff is so nice! I love Dr. Choi!!!

I dont understand why i have to give a star. This place is horrible.They are not professional. If you are a veteran or have tricare your last on the list. My husband is waiting over a month just for them to make an appointment patient advocate will be contacted next. If you call it usually goes to an answering machine, or your put on waiting for a long time. I was at the hospital and the reception there was put on hold for 20mins trying to talk to their office in reguards on them not putting in the correct information. There is only one person that is able to put in prescription to insurance, if that person is gone you can bet you wont get any medicine. They take forever putting your insurance in right. The doctor does not listen or pay any attention what his notes are. I went in with high blood pressure, not sleeping for days, in constant pain if sit, stand or lay down. It is noted thand ive been having these pain for 18yrs they're advice was take Tylenol. They talk to you as if you are stupid. I would rather pay for a ticket to fly to Oahu, a rental,car and a hotel than to ever go back. They will continue to push the process just so you keep coming back to give them money. Honestly don't give a shit unless you look rich, but thats probably because they want money. And it's sad this is the only pain management doctor on island. If you want to continue to give them money by all means do so, but the chance of getting relief is slim.

To combine an academic with clinical expertise is profoundly crucial in this specialty of the spine. After 40 plus years of chronic low back pain, I was referred to Dr. Choi. He diagnosed; clearly explained and completed a minimally invasive procedure that has relieved the majority of my back pain. Absolutely amazing after so many years!! I will testify to anyone of not only his ability to focus on your spine issues and treat them accurately, but also, I appreciate his demeanor of kindness and sincerely caring about his patients.

Medicine these days can be especially thankless. Especially a Pain Center. Dr Choi is very professional and concentrated, there are so many rules and protocols he must balance. But he is not without feeling. I had made a mistake with an appointment and he called me an hour after the clinic closes. That is a function of integrity and dedication. I'm so impressed with the staff Dr Choi oversees. It's just a tough business and they maintain their compassion and humanity. I would give them more stars if I could, they have changed my life. And I have never been healthier.
