Makena Crossfit has been my first exposure to crossfit, and I am HOOKED! As a newbie I was pretty intimidated by the sport, but I quickly realized I had no reason to be, especially here. If you want to feel welcomed (all the coaches know you by name and you'll make friends with regulars and visitors alike), supported (great coaching and help from both the coaches and the awesome and badass regular crossfitters), and empowered while you get fitter and push yourself, this is the place. The community that regularly comes to class is stellar and always an inspiration. Big shout out to head coach Paul, and coaches Laurie, Christina, and Mel. My only regret is that I found Makena Crossfit a couple months before I am leaving the island, after being here for years... my standards have been set high for the next gym I join!
I dropped in three times while on my week long vacation in Maui and had such a great time. Paul and all of the members are so friendly, fun and welcoming. I felt right at home, and I loved the programming. Fun times and great community ?
