I signed up for a SUP class about 45 minutes before the class was supposed to begin. The website said to call about signing up because it was so late. I called and the lady I spoke with (forgot to ask her name) was really nice and friendly. She waited on the phone while I signed up online because I wanted to make sure it worked. The instructor, Jon, was chill, low key, and cool. We started with some meditation, and moved into asanas. Jon gave really clear, simple instructions and was easy to follow. At the end, he hummed some kind of chant that was so calming and lovely. It was awesome! I was a little nervous because I'm mediocre at yoga and not so great in water but it was a really fun, energizing class and the instructor made everyone feel at ease. The only thing I wish was that we could have had a photo taken while we were on our boards. Not sure when I will be able to do that again since we're leaving Hawaii tomorrow. But, other than that, it was AWESOME!!

I took my first SUP yoga class with Julia at Ala Moana and it was amazing. It's a great all body workout to balance on the paddle board(which was very wide and comfortable) while floating in the water and my core was engaged the whole time, which I don't always engage during yoga on land. I had no trouble following Julia's calming and thorough instructions and I never felt lost or rushed. She even took extra time to take individual pictures of everyone on their boards after class which was very thoughtful. It was overall a great experience and I can't wait to go back and try the evening class!
