Went to the dental clinic for the first time and everything they did, they did wrong. My PCP is in the regular clinic in the same building and they're always awesome, but I have TMJ issues and she was unsure where to send me so she told me to go to the dental clinic. I called and found out they don't treat TMJ, but I could get a referral if I did an office visit. So I made an appointment for 12:30pm on a certain day. Came in at 12:25pm and didn't get called in until 3:20pm. Yeah, about THREE HOURS later. Meanwhile most other patients only waited 10-30 minutes. Then the nurse confirmed "Oh you're allergic to __, mint/menthol, __" to which I said yes and she put it in the computer. Immediately after, she gave me minty mouthwash. I didn't think to ask if it was mint because she'd JUST went over that I'm allergic to mint. My gums burned, throat got a little swollen, tongue was fully to partially numb, terrible nausea, and it flared my TMJ pain because I was straining so much to talk. Imagine if I was severely allergic; her negligence could've landed me in the hospital! I asked what the point of the mouthwash was since I wasn't getting anything done, she said it was just something they did. I got up to rinse out my mouth at the sink and told her my gums were really burning from it, and she laughed it off! Then she had me do an X-ray which I didn't want to do unless necessary but she said it was. The dentist didn't even look at it. The dentist briefly examined me and confirmed TMJ, gave me a paper with at-home exercises to do, and told me I don't need a referral, I should just look for a dentist who treats TMJ. So the whole 4 hours and allergic reaction was a total waste of time. They should've just told me that on the phone!

I don't understand the negative reviews, or the libel (yes, that's what it is called). I have had two stellar appointments so far and a third next week. The offices were neat and clean, all the equipment too. I especially appreciate Dr. Manea's care. All the dentists are good, she was great.

Went there for an injury as it was the closest doctors office to home , what a mistake. Everyone in the waiting room smelled like cigarette smoke and the guy sitting next to me was weighing tiny ziplock bags with god knows what inside. The lady on the other side of the waiting room kept asking me for money, and a unwashed person went to use the bathroom , and his dog pee'd on the wall without as much as lifting an eyebrow or trying to clean it up. Service dog my okole!Had ample parking at the library across the street but there is a gauntlet of unwashed people in front asking for cigarettes and money . I don't smoke but maybe next time I'll bring some so I can throw them nearby have them leave me alone

They sent me a letter saying, "We haven't seen you in a while and we want you back." I called to schedule an appointment but nothing available until next year. No good, they need to work on their messaging and setting expectations appropriately.

Love this place. Went in as an emergency walk-in to the dental clinic when the cumulative damage from my severe, long-term addiction to cinnamon jawbreakers finally became too much to tolerate and the pain forced me to seek care.I was immediately impressed by the staff and have friendly and helpful they were, as well as by everyone's professionalism. They accept most insurance I believe but if you have no insurance you can still get care on a sliding fee scale with your final bill based on your income/ability to pay. To use the sliding fee scale you will need to bring in proof of income but you won't necessarily need that on your first visit.Scheduling an appointment can be challenging; the first time I called in February I was told new patient appointments were backed up until April or May but if you're having pain you can just walk in as an emergency patient and be seen that day. You will have to wait until they have time to see you, and it's best to show up as early in the clinic day as possible to make sure you can be seen, but for someone having tooth pain that's preventing them eating this is nothing short of miraculous.I had one tooth extracted & am scheduled to go back to get one more out soon. After I've resolved my immediate pressing dental problems I plan to keep going back for routine dental care and cleaning so hopefully I don't get to this place again with my teeth. If you're an uninsured adult in Hawaii who has been delaying necessary dental care because of the cost I highly recommend looking into this clinic and seeing how they can help you.

Thanks for checking on me after your severed & burnt the nerve. Why don't you pretend to be a lawyer or something that your not going to hurt someone practicing on people like lab rats is cruel! Karma happens! NAMCHUNG IS AN IMPOSTER.

This is a review for the dental clinic only up on the 2nd floor. In order to get an appointment with this dental clinic you must speak to a man by the name of Nicholas Here is the problem. You can leave a message with him but he will never pass it on. I called because I was in so much pain I needed an emergency appointment. I left 3 voicemails, no one called back. I didn't get in for 3 weeks. According to the female dentist. Who seems competent and caring, he never relayed the messages so she didn't know.. While I was waiting for my dental appointment on the 2nd floor Nicholas the receptionist let other patients eat their lunches with their masks off, during a pandemic. This was before vaccinations were available. They had a long and friendly conversation. He said nothing about masking up. So if you aren't concerned about your health you'll be fine. Staff can make a dentist experience even more uncomfortable than it has to be.

Dental clinic review only. I waited months to see a dentist even though I was in pain and taking antibiotics for a tooth infection. I'd try someplace else. They are just always understaffed...
