All the times that I've been here the grounds looked well kept. The grass is always mowed. It's really a picturesque place. They have two entrance and exits on 18th and 22nd Ave. It right across the street from Diamond Head Studios and right next to Kaimuki Middle School. This is where Diamond Head Mortuary is located. People are always having funerals here. It's nice on the inside and they have a huge seating area in the back for refreshments afterwards.
Nature's Beauty. I was told this is one of the easiest of all trails to climb. I was told about 25 min to an hour. Wear good socks and sneakers. Flip flops will not be a wise choice. I thought I wouldn't make it but I had many people cheering me on. It took me about an hour but I finally did it.There were a few places to sit and stop but also know at the end of the long trail there was a butt load of stairs to conquer just before you get to the top.It is all what you would expect it it be. Spectacular view is an under statement but can someone please put in a zip line from the top to my car please. They have a small gift shop, I wish they sold a shirt that said "I survived Diamond Head". LolThey have one food truck, a bathroom and a couple of water fountains but other that that is pure nature. Driving in you will go through the side of the volcano which is pretty epic and then you are on the inside of the crater. Prices here are very affordable even at the gift shop. I was surprised to find a Diamond Head chap stick for only.25cent. Lol
Went hiking at Diamond Head for the first time and it was an amazing experience. The hike up is about 30 to 45 minutes up depending on your pace. Coming down took me 30 minutes back down. The views on top was worth it and you see the whole city on top. Great experience in Oahu, Hawaii.
