I don’t cut my hair often—maybe once a year—so when my friend told me about an $18 haircut, I had to see it myself. You walk in and it’s simple, no frills, just a husband and wife running the whole operation. I sit down, the chair creaks a little, the clippers buzz to life, and immediately it feels less like a business and more like someone’s living room that happens to give haircuts.
