I had what I thought was a plumbing issue because of a weird smell, so Ian came over to scope it out. I was able to snag an appointment next day, which I was relieved by, and the minute he walked in and assessed what was going on, he explained that he didn't think the smell was a plumbing issue. He checked the toilet and sink from where I thought the smell was originating, but then suggested we check the crawl space, where I found a massive dead possum - clearly the actual root of my problem. Ian was so helpful despite my problem not even being a plumbing problem at the end of the day! M Cary sent Ian Carby out to do an estimate on work in my kitchen and bathroom. The main work required them to turn off the full water in my condo building which is 100 years old (gently). They had to install turn off valves (5), install a new toilet and flange, new sink, new faucet, remove garbage disposal and put in new supply lines, etc. This was a 3 visit process due to tile repairs, etc. They were on time and did this on budget. Ian is the plumber, nice guy, respectful, flexible and good at communications. I have used M Cary & Daughters plumbing service in three of the houses I've owned over the last 20 years, including service from them today. The repair I had in my last house, a few years back, was a major sewer line replacement that was done efficiently and at a fair price. They came out today to my current home, and were able to repair our water line on-the-spot instead of having to do a full replacement. Having used them over the years, my experience with them is that they are always thorough and efficient. I would say they are moderately priced, certainly not as expensive as a franchise service like Roto Rooter but not cheap either. However, you get what you pay for....read full review
