We had a GREAT EXPERIENCE here! From the time we walked in everyone was nice kind and patient with my 3 yr old. The Hygienist Mrs Kenya was very nice and patient. She took time with my son explaining to me what she was doing every step of the way she made it fun for him while also keeping me informed about his visit. Dr Camp was amazing. She explained everything to me, answered my questions and made our visit seamless and fun. We will definitely be returning for a six month visit. Thank you Dr. Camp, Mrs Kenya and staff!!

My son had an excellent first ever dentist appointment at Decatur Camp Kids. Dr. Camp has very kind, patient, and informative hygienists that made my son and I feel at ease. Dr. Camp was a joy and gave superb anticipatory guidance on my son’s oral health and development. My family is happy to have a dental home!

The dentists provide excellent details about the visit and the kids love the mini prizes

Dr Camp is so wonderful, but as others have noted, the support staff really lack the professionalism and compassion youβd expect of a pediatric practice, especially when it comes to taking x rays. They are super impatient with little kids that struggle and have such weird, rigid policies that it really will ruin the whole experience. Weβre moving on.

We had a bit of a dental emergency after my son broke his tooth on Halloween candy (surprise surprise), and Dr. Camp along with her staff were so kind and put as at ease throughout the whole process from evaluation to procedure. My kids actually get excited to go to the dentist with a very kid-friendly environment, equipped with movie favorites on the ceiling, games to play in the waiting room and fun prizes to pick out at the end. Truly a 10/10 experience

i'm disappointed about this dentistry because they are way over booked for treatments. i was told they don't have openings for my kids treatment until two months later and the only time they offered within two month is Dec. 23, which obversely won't work due to holiday travel. i just have concerns if there were families need treatment sooner, they won't be available. i decided to find new dentistry for my kids because of this.
EDIT: after i post my review, a few hours later, i got a phone call from this dentistry, sounded very angry about my review and telling me i don't have the right to share my experience on the internet through google review (i usually do not do review unless i feel i need to) and tried to lash out on me. I found the caller was very emotional instead of being professional, and i didn't feel safe keep speaking with her, i had to hangup to stop being talked badly to keep my sanity.

Updated Review 5 stars: I failed to mention in my original review that I followed Dr Camp from dentistry for kids when I found out she left and started her own practice. My daughter was about 6 yrs old at that time and we were already used to seeing her when we went to our appts so of course I searched and found her. My daughter is now 14 yrs old. I can't speak for everyone else but every 6 months faithfully we go see Dr. Camp and every single visit I always receive the same great service, smiles, and kindness from everyone there. I had a moment today watching my baby laughing and talking like she grown with the ladies back there π π₯° it warmed my heart yall. I hate that when she turns 18 she'll have to transition to a different dentist but all in all we have truly appreciated the way this lovely woman and her staff has cared for my baby over the years.
Original review 5 stars :I love Dr Camp!!! She is very personable and the way she interacts with the kids is amazing. My daughter is 8 but I saw her teach a mom with another baby there a trick for him to be cool while she brushed his teeth lol. It was cute and it worked. She doesn't say a whole bunch of things is wrong just to bill your insurance and her appointments are so smooth and quick. She's honest and when you look at HER teeth you will never want anyone else to touch your child's teeth but her. She's about to get my daughter all the way together by her teensπππΌ you the bomb Dr Camp !

DO NOT GO HERE!!This place is awful!!
My experience at Decatur Camp Kids Pediatric Dentistry has left me feeling the practice is more FOCUSED on the rigid policies and payment than on wellbeing of children and their families.
My recent visit to this office with my son. From the moment we walked in, the experience was AWFUL and did not meet the standard of care I expected from a pediatric practice.
Lack of welcome and warmth: Only 1 staff member greeted my son or myself with a smile or kind word. This immediately set a negative tone. Usually when I walk into a place that focuses on children you hear laughing and smiling. I heard silence.
Insurance verification policy: I was told insurance is only checked the day before the appointment. I have NEVER encountered this policy at any pediatric office or any office for that matter. I also work for Blue Cross Blue Shield and confirmed my insurance fully covers a routine cleaning. A quick system check with my policy ID would have resolved this, but instead the focus seemed to ONLY on payment rather than care. I had to pay for the service as if I didnβt have any insurance. Which is crazy!
Receptionist conduct: While I briefly stepped outside to call the father of my son, I overheard unprofessional comments being made when I returned.
Water bottle restrictions: I was told my son, and I could not bring water bottles into the back, leaving me concerned about our personal belongings being let unattended
X-ray experience: The technician did not allow me to stand near my son during this process. My son needed my help getting into the chair, which was too tall for my son to reach since the technician did not assist my son into the chair. Typically, I hold his hand during this process, but was told I could not due to the βradiationβ risk. In my experience at multiple dental offices, I have NEVER been PREVENTED from being beside my son during this process
Lack of compassion for other families:While waiting, I witnessed another family with three children being told that only one parent could go back with them. When the mother explained the challenge of managing three children alone, she was met with no compassion or flexibility from staff. The further highlighted the lack of understanding and care at your practice
I emailed this practice personally and the response I was given is that is the policy.
On top of that, I got a second opinion from his original dentist and had said there is nothing to be concerned about. His teeth looks great. While Decatur Camp Kids Pediatric Dentistry said my son had 4 cavities and needed a crownβ¦..
