About First Gen Dog Training
First Gen Dog Training is a highly regarded dog training facility in the Atlanta area, known for behavior modification, obedience training, and puppy development. The trainer, Devon, is very knowledgeable and skilled in working with dogs of all sizes. Many clients feel confident leaving their pets in his care, praising his ability to help dogs become well-behaved and responsive to commands. The facility has a great setup, and Devon’s training has led to significant improvements in dogs’ behavior. For example, a rescue dog that was almost uncontrollable became well-behaved after training, and the owners learned proper training techniques from Devon, which helped them bond better with their dog. Another dog, a Corso/Dane mix, was initially overprotective and showed challenging behavior at home. Devon’s board-and-train program and home visit addressed these issues, transforming the dog into a more balanced and happy pet. Clients appreciate Devon’s ability to correct bad behavior and teach owners how to practice proper training, making behavioral changes last. Many dogs, including a Yorkshire terrier and a pitbull, have responded very well to Devon’s care, often returning home as different, more well-mannered dogs. Overall, First Gen Dog Training is known for its excellent service, personalized approach, and remarkable canine transformations.
We did the board and train for both of our Goldens and regularly board them with Devan. They love going there. I feel very confident in the training they receive and how they are cared for and treated. Devan is very good with the dogs and they respond very well to him. I would definitely recommend him to others!
We contacted Devan for our 10 month old pitty, Georgia. We had been turned away from multiple trainers because she wasn't house trained (which was an issue we just couldn't correct nomatter how hard we tried). She had "dirty dog syndrome" from living her life in a shelter & eating, sleeping & pottying all in the same place. Although we've had her for 7 months it's something we couldn't correct. She chewed on everything she wasn't supposed to & was impossible to walk on a leash. Devan had Georgia for 3 weeks & when I tell you that she came back a different dog, I MEAN IT. She's so well mannered that my 10 yr old can walk her on a leash with ease. She waits to come out of the crate & to walk indoors. She sat STILL beside us & watched TV last night for almost 2 hours. I was floored. After we've perfected our basic training I fully plan to send her back for extensive training.
Most experienced and knowledgable dog trainer I have ever spoken with I'd recommend anyone with a k-9 to use this service.
