“I found Luz after spending almost 2 hours at another well-known local salon being told that I couldn't get highlights because I had previously used box dye to cover my grays. I was told my hair was damaged and that I would need multiple appointments to correct the damage before they could achieve the highlights I wanted.

I left feeling frustrated and honestly a little defeated. It was my only day off, I had already wasted so much time, and it was imperative that I get my hair colored that day.

I came across this Dominican salon on Google and called, desperate at this point. Luz was so accommodating! I explained exactly what I had done to my hair and that the box dye was simply my attempt to cover my grays.

What I appreciated most was her honesty. She explained that because of the previous color, my highlights could potentially lift in different tones. She didn't make unrealistic promises, but she also didn't make me feel like my hair was beyond saving. She explained what could happen, took her time, and got me RIGHT with ONE SHOT! 🙌🏽

My highlights came out beautiful, my hair felt soft and healthy, my grays were covered, and I finally had the color I had been trying to achieve.

Beyond the service itself, the salon was peaceful and comfortable, and Luz was so down-to-earth. No pretentious salon atmosphere and no making me feel bad about what I'd previously done to my own hair. Just good conversation and someone who clearly knew how to work with my kind of hair.
