Gateway Community Service Board is a helpful program with professional and friendly staff who are kind, respectful, and understanding. They provide essential services including shelter and housing programs, group and individual therapy, medication management, and a well-stocked pharmacy. Reviews describe it as the best place, where staff truly care and listen like family, offering great patience and dedication to people with mental health and drug issues. The service has improved with more security, and many credit the program with providing stability, saving lives, and helping individuals become mentally, physically, and emotionally stable in their own homes. It comes highly recommended.
Let me start this review by stating that the staff deserves nothing but 5/5 and I have never had an issue with a provider or receptionist. My issue is with their system of scheduling. When I first started seeing my provider, their system was very different and so good- you would receive your next appointment date at the end of your visit. Which is logical. It makes sense. After awhile they have decided to change it to clients having to make calls every week to get rescheduled for a week later. This is extremely stressful and not congruent for patients who suffer from mental illness as it is disrupting a routine, hard to get an appointment and sometimes leading to not seeing their provider for several months, as I am typing I have not been able to see my Dr. for nearly 3 months. And it is not the first time either. This is unacceptable. I’m not sure why the system changed, but it is absolutely not working. I’ve left comment cards in the reception office but it’s clear no one reads them, I know I can’t be the only person who feels this way. It feels like whoever is making these decisions does not care about their patients, nor their staff because I know they hear complaints about it too. This review will probably go nowhere but this is a public plea for change. If you, reader, have also had a hard time getting scheduled and are frustrated please join me and leave a review with your experience.
