I have been coming here for years and generally get good haircuts but I went a few days ago and easily got the worst haircut I’ve ever had as an adult. I’ve been trying to grow my hair out for the last few years and when I went and asked for a trim and some long layers she easily cut off over 6-7 inches in some places. Not only is it not what I wanted at all but the layers are extremely choppy and uneven. I feel like years of progress and patience just went down the drain and it’s the ugliest I have felt in a very long time. I also really emphasized that if she wanted to do some front framing pieces that would be great but they need to able to be tied up for work. Random layers not even in the front can now barely fit in a ponytail despite all of my hair being mid chest at the shortest layer when I came in. I’ve been coming here for years and usually I have had good experiences but this was horrible, I’m definitely not coming back.

I just love this place. Everyone is welcome. Everyone’s so nice. I love Katie and Pam. They are so sweet and I never feel pressured or stressed out. I am not a fan of getting my hair cut most times.Its so easy to work with them. My husband went for a barber cut from Charlie too. It came out cute, and he has it tough with the curls! The vibe in this place is so hard to find. Thank you for a peaceful experience.

Let me start from the beginning... Throughout my life I have experienced bad haircuts and traumatic hair appointments. This made it hard for me to trust any salon. Fast forward to the 3rd of November 2025. I had a hair EMERGENCY. I managed to matte the full back of my hair and spent 3 hours with no luck of getting it out (I blame hairspray). I called Shear Art, and they booked me an appointment the next AM.
Ming was extremely nice and understanding of my “situation”. She walked me through what she was doing and offered words of encouragement as I entered a panic state. She spent hours of her time working nonstop to try and fix this. Laura (later learned she is a co-owner), noticed and offered up her help. She sat down and gave up her time to try and work through my hair. Throughout my visit Laura checked on Ming and I’s progress and assured me I would not have to shave my hair as I truly thought was the only solution at this point.
Ming graciously spent her whole shift with me until she had to leave for another job. Kelsey then stepped up to help. Her shift ended at 2:30pm but she stayed until 6pm to ensure my hair was fixed. She was determined and gave me a fresh wash & scalp massage to help with the pain I was in from knot in my hair. Paige was a light throughout my visit. Ensuring I had snacks, candy and a drink at all times. She continued to show support and offer words of wisdom throughout my visit.
When I say this is the dream team it truly was. I spent the whole day in the salon with a crew of determined, generous, and kind professionals who knew my panic and wanted nothing more than to get my confidence up so I could feel beautiful again. If you have not met the team I highly recommend stopping in and be greeted by a warm smile.
End result: My hair is back to normal. No shaving, no cutting it off. I have never been happier.

I have gotten my hair cut with Ming and I’ve never been so happy with a hair cut. I get the same haircut every year for the past 7or 8 years. I asked for a similar thing the first time I came to her with some framing and she gave me a few shorter thicker cuts in the front that could hang down when I have my hair up, that I did not expect to love so much. She took the time to make sure I could still tuck them behind my ears or wear the same styles I normally do. She suggested layers for my now undeniably wavy almost turning into curly hair (a slow but gradual change over the years). The next time I saw her, I was ready for it and she gave me long layers to start and see if I like them and some debulking. Again I am obsessed with it. Such subtle changes, but she listened to my needs and offered very sound recommendations. She takes her time and it feels like a luxury spa experience. She has such a relaxing and open conversation style. I will be a loyalist to her after these two cuts. I also got a cute little feather placed. Thanks Ming! Every staff member at the salon has been super friendly and helpful as well.
