I spoke to Mike G by phone in order to get a second opinion about a domestic violence case where my son was charged. While we are currently represented by another attorney, I felt strongly that our current attorney's were not responsive and were providing some answers to legal issues that didn't pass the litmus test. Spent thousands of dollars on this attorney to handle my son's case. In 19 months, Michael Gonzales only seen my son 3 times on visitation, was constantly late to court, and once he never even came to court. Charged me extra for deposition that he walked out on half way through and never finished. While my sons co-defendants were making plea deals.... Attorney Gonzales did nothing. The Prosecutor told the judge that she had not heard from Attorney Gonzales yet on any plea deals 14 months in. Long story short... my son got a 20 yr sentence. I worked 3 jobs... to pay for my son's defense. I wish I had paid for a better attorney. A public defender would have done better. After, the sentencing he ran out without even speaking to me or my son's father.

I can't even give this guy 1 star. It's very unfortunate I paid for this guy to represent my son before reading these reviews. The reviews are correct! Stay away from this attorney unless you want to just make a shitty plea deal. My 18 yo son got into some trouble with a couple other kids. He never worked the case until it was time to go to trial or make a plea. Probably because he hasn't been to trial. Now my son will spend more time in prison than he's been alive and he didn't kill anyone. 20 years! 18 yo men's brains don't even fully develop until they are 21. Some drug dealer got shot in his ass and my son wasn't even the perpetrator. Zero DNA evidence on the gun from my son and he doesn't even fight for him. And this is the best he could do! I wish I never hired you to represent my son! I'm sure a public defender would have done a better job without paying you what close to 30k. For nothing! I'm sure he will sleep just fine tonight when he goes to bed and not even think that my son is going to serve 20 years with no gain time. Brutal! P.S. They made me put a star rating before I could post.
