Where this is located, is on the edge of an artsy area called park east. It’s right near the APRICOT BAZAAR And there is a cooperative artist studio very large nearby. Also, nearby is kind of an industrial area where they are selling granite by the slab, etc. To the trade or to individuals.I have gotten some great deals here but this is not a small item store like the exchange. Occasionally you can get some small items here but it’s more about actual antiques or larger good quality or vintage items. Taking a trip to PEL is like going on a furniture, accessories and jewelry treasure hunt in a large air-conditioned warehouse. The quality of the merchandise is higher than that at many consignment shops and the prices are attractive, too. The inventory changes frequently, so there’s always something different to catch your eye and tempt you to buy. And the helpful staff are friendly, lovely people. Because a portion of the proceeds go to help local at-risk youth, what you spend represents an investment in the community. By patronizing PEL you can improve your home AND your hometown.

I recently took the drive to PEL, "rolling deep" across Fruitville into a part of Sarasota I'd never been to before. I am glad I did. PEL is such a trove of unique and generally high quality furniture, lamps and interesting old items, what a gem of a store. Their friendly volunteers are very helpful. Yes, parking is a bit of a challenge, but very doable, unless perhaps you are accustomed to valet service.
