I called McDonalds at 8 in the morning, Daryll showed up at ten, analyzed everything, I signed the contract for the work to be done, and by 6 that evening, everything was complete,: repairing a 9 year old unit, and installation of a new more efficient unit replacing a 21 year old one. Everyone with this company from the person(girl) answering the phone, to Daryll (man), to the two guys installing and fixing, were just outstanding; knowledgable, polite, personable and efficient. This is. without a doubt, one of the best companies, in my nearly 50 years of living in Sarasota, that I have ever dealt with, and I was in the New home construction field all that time. I highly recommend McDonalds and Sons. You will be happy and satisfied you did too.

We have spent a year dealing with this company and can’t begin to describe their incompetence and immorality. Our saga began a year ago with a full system install (2 Daikin Fit units + ductwork). The units have not worked correctly the entire time we have owned them. We have had at least 20-30 service calls without any relief. We are continually several degrees off from the set temperature with humidity of 70% and above. The workmanship provided by this company is shockingly substandard (see photo album). When running a lineset, they took a sledgehammer unnecessarily to my flower bed, destroying it. The course of the lineset was above ground for several feet at both ends which looked laughably unsightly. When asked to come fix it, their tech took rocks from my drainage culvert and scrap pavers from my garage and piled it up over the lineset (see photo album). The lineset cover was applied crooked and any gaps were filled with spray foam. We have recently had 2 independent inspections done of the units from reputable local companies. Both concluded that the ductwork is undersized and the upstairs unit is critically overfilled with coolant. Due to the insufficient air supply, my units will never function appropriately as designed. Unfortunately, due to prolonged exposure to dangerously high humidity from underperforming units and inappropriately sealed ductwork penetrations, my home now suffers from multiple areas of mold growth which are affecting my family’s health and well-being (see photos). Jim McDonald no longer owns this company, a man named Bob Bermudez does. But you simply won’t hear from Bob unless you are buying a system or leaving a one-star google review. You will only deal with Jeremy his manager. Bob’s offer to remedy my situation was to switch out my units at an additional cost of $9500 to ME!! He will look you in the face and tell you that everything is working as intended despite having never seen your home/system. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. We are unfortunately proceeding with litigation against this company. There are far better A/C companies to do business with in Sarasota (check out AAP air or AC Today which are amazing). We regret the day we ever called Jim McDonald and sons. BEWARE!!!!

We had a pipe burst at our backflow while I was out of town, leaving my wife and two small children at home without water. McDonald Home Services responded immediately, repaired the issue, and restored our water quickly. They kept me updated throughout the process and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend them—especially in a time of need!
