“We just completed a 3 month major renovation project. Including new kitchen, relocation of laundry, reconfiguration of a bedroom/office, addition to the lanai, new flooring, bathroom change overs, and more. Having completed a number of remodels over the years and being my own general contractor, I was very hesitant to hire a contractor for this large project. However, I am so glad we did. Armex surpassed all expectation. From the design with Jericho, to daily communication with Jose, our project manager, the project proceeded smoothly. The workers and subs were excellent. They scheduled and worked every day. Plus each day they cleaned the area and took away all the trash. I highly recommended them and will definitely hire them again for my next remodel.“

“Mr. Lee and Berchtold Builders worked with me several times over close to the last 15 years and they continue to be who I call when I need repairs and any kind of changes to my home. He worked with me in 2012-13 to assist in making the primary areas and bedroom/bathroom more wheelchair accessible to me since I have to use an electric powered wheelchair to get around and my home was already built to the average specifications when I purchased it. Everything turned out great and within the timeframe given. I worked with Mr. Lee again in 2020 when my mother had a massive stroke and the her side of the house needed to be made handicap accessible and made safe for a stroke survivor. He again made everything perfect, in time for my mom to return home, and for an affordable price. After Hurricane Ian damaged everything inside and outside my home, from the roof to the drywall and floors, to the pool and the pool cage, Mr. Lee has worked with me to schedule and fix as we go, depending on importance and what I could afford while awaiting on the money to trickle in from the insurance company and such. His workers have been polite and professional and done great work, completing the jobs in a timely and efficient manner and I will call on BBI again when insurance finishes paying for the rest of the repairs for the damage from Ian. In a day where it seems every business is just trying to rake every consumer over the coals for every dollar they can, it's nice to know and be able to do business with an absolutely honest business man like Mr. Lee. They don't make them like him anymore and I sure will be in trouble when he decides to retire. You won't be sorry hiring Berchtold Builders.“

“Since my previous review, I have been working with Alex of Diamond Gulf Construction regarding the build of my home in Cape Coral. Update as of 10/24/2025.

I will have to say that my experience with Alex has greatly improved over the last several months. He has gone above and beyond to make sure that my needs were met and that the construction of my new home has been completed. The construction detail has been completed with a very nice completed project. The finishes of the home are of good quality and the home looks professionally done.

I will have to give Alex an A for effort in making sure that the home was completed to my satisfaction. He always went out of his way to address any concerns that I had. The home is now complete and i am happy with the finished product. I think that Alex had some growing pains with his business for a while, but now seems to be on step to produce a good product.

Do not do business with Diamond Gulf Construction, LLC. I have never seen such a mismanaged construction company in my life. I have been promised over and over again that my house would be completed over a year and a half ago and still to this day, they have not gotten the Certificate of Occupancy required to be able to move into the house.

I signed my construction contract with them on January 31, 2022. They did not even apply for the permit for starting the home until December 7th, 2022. Almost 12 months later. The plan submission was turned down initially by the City of Cape Coral and did not pass until March, 2023. The permit did not get issued until May 9th, 2023, over a year after I had signed and was told by Guido, their sales person, that they would be starting the house right of way. The project moved along until they got the block walls constructed at which time things were at a standstill again. Alex, the owner, told me that there was a delay in getting the trusses from the Truss Manufacturer. I got the name of the Truss Manufacturer myself and called them and within 3 days the trusses were delivered to the sight. It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with these people. I have been continually lied to regarding getting the work done.

I have had to continuously show up at their office to keep pushing them to get the house complete. And each time I did, I was told certain things would be completed on different dates with nothing ever getting completed when they had told me that it would be done.

In September of 2024 when things were at a standstill, I found out through word of mouth that the company was having financial difficulties. I ended up having to pay the subs directly myself to keep the project moving forward. I have also found out that they have not paid some of their subs for work that they had done for Diamond Gulf Construction, LLC. I made sure that I got Lien Releases from the subs as I was paying them directly for work so as to prevent any liens being placed on my property.

I am writing this review so that other unsuspecting home owners don't end up in such an awful stressful situation with this builder.
I am telling you to steer completely clear of this builder. They do not know how to manage their business and are not completely honest with the customers.“
