I’m writing my review as a parent who spent 5 years at a commercialized karate school. I will start out saying, leaving a commercialized school was the best thing we have done for my son. They tore down my son’s confidence, made him feel like he wasn’t good enough, never worked with him to better his skills. He left as a black belt, but not able to defend himself. Master Nelson is more than just a Grand Master in Korean American Martial Arts Academy. He is a friend, a helper, and an advocate for kids! Our daughter was having some bullying at school and Master Nelson talked to her one on one about it and let her know he would show up in any school meeting to address her sticking up for herself if it ever happened again! Master Nelson reinforces expectations of who we expect our daughter to be, he holds them accountable for their own actions. We wouldn’t put her anywhere else.
