I had the same wonderful hairstylist and colorist in San Diego for 15 years. It took me a minute to find just the right person when I moved to Ocala 6 1/2 years ago. Thankfully, I found Gary at Salon Hartwell and he has been doing his magic for me ever since. My hair is very thick and needs to be cut with precision to lay correctly and Gary manages that beautifully. And I think most people understand that gray hair can be difficult to color, but Gary also manages that beautifully. My family and I have been seeing Gary for 6+ years. From men’s cuts to highlighting and coloring to kid’s trims, Gary does it all! He is excellent at what he does, always researching to improve his techniques, and strives to give you the best hair experience at fair prices! I highly recommend Gary for any type of hair care needs and services! He is hands down the best!

I posted on Ocala's Word of mouth (FB) asking for hair stylist recommendations. I booked with the young lady that was highly recommended. Unfortunately, that didn't end well for me. She fried my hair, gave me the worst cut I've ever had and was completely unprofessional. Being relatively new to the area, I was at a loss. A patient of mine, who had fabulous hair, recommended I see Gary at Hartwell Salon. I scheduled a consultation with him so he could assess the damage and feel him out. I learned he started his career as a barber in the army. After the army, he attended one of the best cosmetology schools in Daytona, Florida. His knowledge and 25 plus years experience doing women's hair blew me away. I obviously made an appointment and so happy I did! He not only fixed my color and cut, he used a product that brought my dead hair back to life! Garys a true hair GOD!!! I found my forever stylist!!! I'm one happy lady!
