Florida Eye Specialist Institute was founded by professor Latif Hamed MD in 1997. The institute offers the latest comprehensive medical, laser, and surgical eye care in a high-tech facility that prioritizes excellence in service and patient experience. All surgery is performed at their state-of-the-art outpatient ambulatory surgery center in Ocala. Dr. Latif Hamed MD is named in Best Doctors in America and America's Best Physicians, and his daughter Dr. Nadine Hamed MD is the recipient of the Resident of the Year Award from UF Shands Hospital 2024. The staff is very friendly, funny, and engaging, and patients never feel rushed or ignored. Both Dr. Latif Hamed and Dr. Nadine Hamed are highly skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate, providing exceptional care to their patients.
I experienced excellent care by both Dr's Latif and Nadine Hamed for my cataract surgery. My wife received cataract surgery before mine elsewhere and the difference was apparent with the personal care I received and the protocols offered. My surgery was scheduled one week apart and my wife's was three weeks which was challenging for her as she had to compensate especially when reading for one eye with a new lense and the other not yet corrected. After my experience she is looking forward to future eye care with The Eye Institute. I will continue to refer my friends to the Hameds for their eye care needs.

This is hands down the best eye doctor’s office in Ocala. I have been going there for 15 years and they have always been fantastic. I recently had an eye emergency and had to go to the ER over the weekend. I called the office first thing Monday morning to see if I could get in to see the doctor. Jennifer could not have been nicer. She told me to come right over and they would see me. I saw Dr. Nadine Hamed and she was amazing. She immediately put me at ease and answered all of my questions. I wish I could give the office staff and doctors a 20 star review!
Dr. Hamed is an amazing doctor that spent an hour with me to diagnose my eye problem. In one visit he explained what was occurring with my eyes. He recommended eyedrops that immediately helped my dry eyes syndrome.
I had suffered for 2 yrs. with no results from my former eye doctor.
Dr. Hamed's office staff are patient, friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to make an appointment with Dr. Hamed. He is the Best!
