My groomer, posh pet parlour (Sarah) is whom referred me to islandside and I couldn’t be more thankful and I trust my fur baby’s upcoming surgery will be a success in their hands!“

“Our dog Bowie had eaten something that made him very sick and we weren’t sure what to do, My husband showed up at this clinic at 8am after 6 days of waiting to see if it would pass. They were kind enough to fit them in with almost no wait. Bowie was treated promptly and sent home. The next 30 hours were a little touch and go, but he has fully recovered! We are so very thankful for the staff who took the time to care for our fur baby!“

They do have emergency hours at night if needed. Large selection of veterinary pet foods available. ? We have 2 cats. One is 12 weeks old, and one is 17. I trust them with care for Both of them. Our fur baby was brutally attacked and the doctor and staff were so attentive and worked closely with Blue Pearl to get him transferred to their clinic to perform surgery. The staff and doctor went out of their way to keep us posted and make sure our baby was well taken care of. The doctor was so kind to volunteer to monitor overnight. “Recently, I had the very difficult decision to put my dog Lily down, as she fought congestion heart failure and finally kidney failure. As with anyone ,who truly loves and cares for their family pets, it was devastating.
My cats and dogs have long experienced the Great care, genuine compassion , and knowledgable guidance from Dr. Schumann. To say she is outstanding and truly has the passion, love, and knowledge to be a Vet is an understatement. She not only guided me thru the care of my Lily and her illness, but her knowledge and very helpful, gentle attention, and experience helped Lily live a quality of life which may not have been possible. Her patience, empathy, and love of animals is outstanding. Her communication is wonderful , for me, to be educated on what was going on with Lily made all the difference! My heart will be forever grateful, that SHE made an unbearable task, bearable, knowing I had made the right choice for the one that mattered Lily! “We took our Charlie to the clinic last night (Sunday night at 8pm) because he suddenly started peeing blood
The staff was very kind and professional from the person who answered the phone when we called to Dr Fischer who examined him. An ultrasound indicated a very high probability of bladder cancer.
A dozen more tests could have been ordered, as other vets have done, but as the doctor said It won’t change the outcome It was refreshing to hear someone who was as concerned about our wallet as he was about our dog. I have had $900+ bills in the past from other vets who ran a multitude of tests only to end up telling me they don’t know what’s wrong! Charlie is on medication to ease his discomfort and possibly cure him on the very slim chance it is not cancer.
We are so very grateful for Dr Fischer and his staff for the compassion they showed us when evaluating Charlie We will return to Colonial Animal Hospital for his follow up care.“
