The equipment is modern and seems well maintained. The lobby and treatment area were spotless. My son and I were each initially examined by separate dental teams but I talked to both and came away quite impressed by the insight and professionalism of all involved. Angela is on the ball! Dr Z is rather down-to-earth with an intelligent, calming manner. He answered my oft repeated questions without frustration. He’s a straight shooter and quickly realized the particular kind of long term care I’m looking for. The billing was explained well and I didn’t feel rushed. I look forward to coming back.“

“I’ve suffered a number of very traumatic experiences with so-called dentists in my 70 years. So, when one of my canine teeth broke off one week after I moved to Florida, I started searching the area for someone skilled in implants and who also had extremely good reviews. I wanted someone who would listen to me and be willing to answer my questions without trying to hurry off to the next patient. I wanted someone who would respect my signals to stop while working in my mouth – someone who would stop immediately to address whatever pain I was experiencing, not just with my teeth, but also with my neck which has a herniated disc that can easily pinch a nerve if my head is moved the wrong way.I wanted someone who could not only replace that canine so I could smile again, but also position it correctly in my mouth because it had stuck out my entire life. I also wanted someone who could replace the 4 molars on the bottom (2 on each side) that were either broken off with sharp edges or completely missing. I wanted to be able to eat normally again, as I had been forced to chew with one small area for several decades due to lack of money to get non-emergency dental care and having been through some horrible experiences.I can’t recommend Dr. Michael A. Pikos and all his staff at Coastal Jaw Surgery highly enough. Let me put it this way – have you ever wanted to hug a dentist? Not only does Dr. Pikos give incredibly awesome hugs, he’s the sweetest, most caring and sincere, and most highly qualified and experienced jaw surgeon you could possibly want. And his credentials are impeccable. He had to perform 2 surgeries on me, and somehow managed to make me feel confident and safe throughout.Dr. Pikos works closely with Dr. James Minici (for over 40 years now) at Seven Springs Dental Excellence in New Port Richey, and has him do the actual “crowns” that attach to the implants he installs. All of the above about Dr. Pikos is ditto for Dr. Minici. He built on the brilliant work of Dr. Pikos and gave me my smile back along with my ability to eat normally again, and then he went above and beyond to restore my bite where a previous dentist had ruined it.And Dr. Minici’s assistant Marie is the best! She’s definitely someone you would want by your side when the dentist is digging around in your mouth, and I enjoyed her company in addition to all her help. Everyone I came in contact with in both offices, beginning with my first phone call, was incredibly friendly and caring. The atmosphere they have created is a stark difference from today’s typical healthcare offices, and a very welcome one!You won’t regret choosing Coastal Jaw Surgery and Seven Springs Dental Excellence.
