The Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel provides a wonderful stay with great amenities, clean and cool rooms, and helpful staff who offer excellent recommendations. Located near the beach, it is close to restaurants, shopping, and the convention center. The hotel has a lively atmosphere, with a DJ in the lobby and easy access to the pool. While it is an older building, the rooms are comfortable and well-stocked. The main floor features a classy lobby and dining area that looks nicer than the rooms themselves. The hotel is ideal for guests seeking decent accommodations without luxury. The friendly staff at the beach and pool enhance the experience, and the hotel offers a great setup for morning coffee and tea. While there may be some minor issues, like mold in the shower tiles and smaller bathrooms, many guests appreciate the welcoming environment and the quality of service provided by the staff.
The Kimpton Surfcomber is a wonderful hotel in the heart of South Beach. We stayed here last Saturday while visiting Miami for the weekend, and everything was perfect from check-in to checkout. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and they even recommended a great little Cuban restaurant nearby that became our favorite spot. We loved how the afternoon light streamed into our beachfront room and the rooftop pool area was the ideal place to relax between our daily adventures.
We enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton Surfcomber. The location was wonderful, the food was good, and several team members made us feel genuinely welcome. Angel, Chris, and Aly went above and beyond to help us, and Jameson provided excellent valet service. They deserve recognition.
Unfortunately, our check-in and room experience fell short of what we have come to expect from Kimpton. Brianna was not welcoming or helpful when we arrived. As Diamond Elite members, we were disappointed that the suite upgrade could not be accommodated without requiring us to change rooms during our stay. Been coming back to the Surfcomber for years now and it never gets old. Just took my out-of-town friends there a couple weeks ago and even they were blown away by how the rooftop bar catches that perfect golden hour light at sunset - seriously, best time to grab a drink there. The whole staff remembered us from last time and took care of us like family, which honestly is rare these days. Can't recommend this place highly enough if you want to feel like a local in Miami Beach.
